Ah cool, I bought a large U shape pillow and it prevented me back sleeping but it did not seem to make any difference on snoring, the majority of the night I side sleep and I always start out side sleeping but I seem to snore all night not just in periods. I am going to try medical tape on the lips tonight, might not make a difference but worth trying a few different things.

I might also video tape myself to try and see what is happening in the minutes leading up to waking.

The "for Her" model AutoSet is like 3 machines in one because it has 3 modes of operation.
CPAP fixed pressure only mode
Regular auto adjusting apap mode
and a special auto adjusting mode designed with a different algorithm target marketed for women but there is no reason in the world that a guy wouldn't also benefit from that different algorithm.

The regular AirSense 10 AutoSet has 2 modes of operation
Cpap fixed pressure mode
Regular Auto Adjusting apap mode

Now will you need or want or even like the special 3rd auto mode....we don't know but isn't it better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it. It's targeted for women because it has "gentler" changes but I have used both modes and to be honest it wasn't all that gentler with what I saw it do and the one thing it did do in the for Her mode that I found useful was set a new minimum pressure for the night if I had 2 OAs within 2 minutes. So less wild pressure variations when in itself probably is a better thing.
Why ResMed doesn't offer this as part of their standard algorithm is a mystery to me and it's something that men could benefit from just as much as women.

If the idea of leaves on the face of the machine bugs you too much. You can change the face plate.
About $20 US dollars will get you a black or plain gray face plate and it's easy to change. I have done it myself for someone who the leaves bugged him too much.

Setting the starting rate to 9-10 has made a huge difference, my VS rate came down from around 2-3 to almost nothing and my VS2 came down from 15-20 to 4-6. I think 9 suits me better than 10, even though 9 has more snoring, the pressure stays lower. Also notice once I started taping my mouth in the 2 most recent ones, my pressure and leak are far more consistent, no more 45 degree increases and then waking. Thanks for all the advice on changing the settings

VS2 snores...weird data points. The machine flags them but won't do anything about them. Makes a person wonder why bother to flag them.

Read this....link may take you to the bottom of the page...scroll up to the top and read what RobySue wrote

If you are sleeping good and feeling good....I don't know that I would worry about those VS2 snores. Some of it might be the hose rubbing on something and making a little noise anyway.
