America’s Love of Male Trees Could Be Why You’re Sneezing Right Now: More diversity in city trees would probably be a good thing.

This may be of interest to people with allergies. "Fascinating" description of male vs. female trees and "sex" between trees. This is not a troll post.

"sex" between trees.
Between trees, against trees and up in trees.

But, that is a private matter and I will not discuss it on here.

Flowers are nice, but pollen is nasty.
Sadly, the mountains of seed pods are usually given more attention.
Luckily, this frog is only sensitive to grass pollen and mildew spores.

Trees like Hu-Mans, are Funny, Yes, trees can be male or female. And sometimes they switch it up. Scientists have known for some time that trees not only have a sex, but can sometimes switch between sexes. ... While many trees have both male and female reproductive parts, others have just one or the other.Mar 2, 2018.

Cute, but inaccurate.
Bees go for the nectar, which is bait to get the bees to move pollen around.
I'd much rather see bees with pollen kneepads than have to breathe said pollen.

Will we ever see an end to the blatant tree sexism and sap gap?

I blame the Tree Patriarchy.

True, the pollen, is for the reproduction of plants that the bees collect from.nectar for food and to make honey.

One of the most common uses for bee pollen is the management of seasonal allergies, such as hay fever. It's thought that ingesting pollens will help the body to build resistance to these potential allergens and, in turn, reduce allergy symptoms. Jim

" . . . it's thought"
By whom?
The purveyors of bee pollen products?
" . . . despite the many online claims that bee pollen can eliminate allergies altogether,
there is still no firm scientific evidence to support that."
Based on the prices of these unproven products--not the best investment.

I believe the intent of Marylandcpaper is to point out that our hatred of tree litter
is biting us in the backside.

In support of the point made by the small green one:
"There is no scientific proof that eating local honey will improve seasonal allergies. One study, published in 2002 in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, showed no difference among allergy sufferers who ate local honey, commercially processed honey, or a honey-flavored placebo."--https://acaai.org/resources/connect/ask ... -allergies

The post didn't say honey, it said pollen was used to help allergies. Jim

Shots of pollen helped my allergies, but I had to stop after my eyes swelled almost shut immediately after a shot, which was odd because I had been on the maximum dose of shot for a while.

If I catch any diabetics around here eating honey, though, . . .

Just sayin.
