CPAP newb RERA awakening

Post by mastaCpappy » Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:17 am

for my first 2 nights, i seem to have the same pattern
i fall asleep, about 1 hour later, i have a RERA on OSCAR
i wake up 10 mins later, go to the bathroom, then don't put the mask back on.

I'm trying to figure out if the RERA is causing the wake up, or if i wake up for some other reason, and taking the mask off causes the RERA to falsely register.
I fall asleep around 1:00 am. The RERA occurs at 1:40 am. 1:45am i have a few bigger snores, then 1:49am (LL - i wake up?)

The curious thing seems that I don't wake up for 10 minutes until after the RERA. I don't see a pressure increase, it seems more snoring wakes me up about 10 mins later.
Is CPAP not able to fix this for me? Is it possible the pressure increase is waking me up?

IGNORE before 1:00am (wasn't asleep)

Ok, someone else will have to comment on Reras, but the report looks pretty good otherwise, though I'm curious why your max setting is only at 10 vs the more usual 20. And I would raise the min. from 4 to 6 to see how things go for a couple of nights.

Had the exact same thought. Maybe the CPAP isn't getting up to pressure fast enough to stop the airway closing, because it's set too low. I read the treatment for a RERA is pressure, like all other apneas.
Getting pretty comfortable with sleeping on the CPAP also, so hoping this works.

Thanks for the help!
