Titration Sleep Study

Post by NewToSleepApnea » Sun Aug 09, 2020 8:52 pm

I have a Titration Sleep study - hopefully they can help with the transition issues.

What should I expect?

Do they mess around with pressures all night?

How does it work?

The goal of a titration is to find the pressure which will reduce your (AHI) events while you sleep. In most cases, if/when the doc orders it, you will have a split nite study when it is first determined if you have sleep apnea then they go right into titration. That way it only takes one nite. But these days they will prob give you an "at home" study to determine if sleep apnea is the problem then schedule an in-lab visit for the titration part. Often they will ask you to sleep on your back to get your worst-case pressure.

They could tell I had severe sleep apnea after about an hour. The immediately hooked me up to a cpap and began titration. I was not surprised at this at all.

In my case, the titration was way off, and I was stuck with a single pressure machine
until I could get an auto from www/cpap.com.
My advice--skip the titration study and demand an autocpap right off the bat.
