newb with borrowed CPAP

I slept one hour only before going to bathroom and giving up. But it found no apneas during that hour.
I'm pretty sure I've had apnea a few weeks ago, but I also quit back sleeping and mouth breathing. And I lost a few pounds. (middle-aged and overweight).

Should I keep hunting for the apneas or is 1 hour enough to rule it out?

Also despite the one hour sleep time with it, and supposedly no apneas, I feel strangely energized this morning.

This is the 2nd night I tried, 1st time I spent 3 hours and couldn't even fall asleep. That's why I'm maybe a little over-eager for input.

You can't use a machine used to treat apnea to rule out apnea.

This is like putting on prescription glasses, seeing everything in focus and then ruling out you need glasses.

yeah, that's what I thought too, guessing I'm asking how often this happens, with the pressure settings 4/10, that it treated my (hypothetical?) apnea perfectly for an hour.
It's possible my lousy sleep is due to things other than apnea, in which case I'm back to the drawing board

I wake up to pee a lot, and when napping on my back, as I'm drifting off, I frequently feel a lack of oxygen and wake up and take a deep breath before getting good rest - kind of like a central apnea (I think).

• Something is not right with the machine starting off at 10 cm of pressure then working its way down
• An hour is too small a sample
• We have no idea how much of that hour you were asleep, nor whether you completed a sleep cycle
• You were being treated

If you use Cpap properly (which you did not by a mile) you won't get up to pee all night - one of the perks to look forward to.
