OSCAR data manipulation

Post by OnTheCouch » Tue Aug 11, 2020 7:02 am

Last night my overall AHI was 11.9. For most of the night things look pretty good, but round about 4:30 am started to devolve into an unholy mess. I honestly think it's not "good" data, but what I've heard you all refer to as sleep-wake junk. So, I'd like to find some way to eliminate that portion of the night from my overall statistics and just see numbers for my good time. Is there a way to do this?

I know I'm hanging up on a number and that I shouldn't do that, but it's hard to gauge my progress when a night that looks really bad on paper actually is not.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Why not show your data??? Who, besides you, is looking at your data???

There is a way to turn off separate sleep sessions so that section of the data is omitted from the reports but it involves your having turning the machine off and back on again and creating a separate sleep session first. Without separate sleep session you can't permanently remove the section you want removed. If you wake up at 4:30...turn the machine off and back on again and then you will have a separate session you can just omit by turning it off.

If there are no separate sessions to turn off...
Now there is a way to temporarily look at a section of the night and see the AHI for a section but it won't change the numbers on the left side. Just highlight the area of the night up to the point of the clustering of events you don't want to look at and look just below the events graph and the AHI for the highlighted section will change to reflect just the AHI for the time frame selected. It's in little bitty letters but it is there. It's a temporary way of looking at a night without including a section of time you don't want included. Like highlight and drag the cursor to just before the 4:30 time frame and the AHI just below the events graph will only reflect the highlighted section.

Thanks, I will try that! Curiously, there were 2 occasions during the night when my machine turned itself off (which is a whole other issue I'll need to address, but for right now I'm ostriching that one), so I should be able to look at a good stretch of data before the first shutdown.

On the left side of the detailed report on OSCAR if you scroll all the way down to the bottom you will see your sleep sessions.
If you click on the unwanted session you can turn off that session by changing it from green to red with a click of your mouse.
When it is red the session is omitted from the data totally and you won't see it on the graphs either.

For me, if I get a large enough leak going the machine turns off. You can either resolve the leak issue or turn off that feature...

It has to be pretty much a mask off event sized leak for the machine to turn off. Heck, even a medium size p10 pillow cases enough back pressure to keep the thing from turning off.

Nope. Maybe mouth breathing though. At the time I was using a tap pap. The machine turning off wakes me up. Everything is in place and it comes right back on with breathing.
