Miss E - he did ask a cardiologist some time ago and was refused (on what grounds I have no idea).

Julie,

That's all well and good, but so far I have seen two primary care docs, two ER docs, one cardiologist, and had chest xrays and tons of blood labs and NONE of the docs would test me for covid despite my DIRECT REQUESTS to do so.

So here I am reaching out for answers and ideas. Kinda the point of a forum.

Absolutely, and I'm sorry you've had such negative responses... though I'd kill to know what their reasons were.

You're probably ok as far as it goes, but it's just strange to me that none of them went to it.

Right. I was hoping the new PCP was more accommodating -- but apparently not. Like you, I sure do wonder why.

My new PCP is great, and he did answer me why. In my State, we are short of tests. Therefore, doctors have been given mandated guidelines they have to follow, a list of arrayed symptoms that have to present themselves before they are allowed to order a test. And since I don't have a fever, I don't qualify.

Meanwhile I have a friend in California who's been tested twice, just for his own peace of mind (no doctor's order required and it's free), and he's getting tested again next week.
