Great AHI after 2 weeks on CPAP

Post by DenverCathy » Thu Dec 28, 2006 9:15 am

ALLLLRRRIGHT! I'm so excited I have to shout it out! After 12 days new to this hosehead experience and AHIs in the 9 to 10 range, I hit 4.1 last night!!!!

My bruised, tender bridge of my nose is witness to my efforts -- don't think I have the correct fitting mask; I loosened it last night hoping to help my nose a bit but had had no luck with the leaking. But, I'm greatly encouraged. I'll get the nose problem figured out soon.

Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive!

That's good news!

Of course we never stop at good, we aim for great, so, what mask are you currently using?

Good Start! Check your profile, it appears to be wrong. You are showing the Classic Pro 2, the "M"agic HH and the Encore Pro 1.6i software. Just having the card isn't the software. Also what pressure are you running? Jim

OK, OK, blarg, so 4.1 isn't great -- "good" works for me at this point. I'll hope for "great" some day (with great patience). Thanks for the acknowledgement.

I'm using a Fisher-Paykey FlexiFit HC432 FF mask which I'm just trying out. I think I have a medium but it could be a small -- I can't remember what my DME fitted me with. It's good (I think re leaks -- just hard on my nose). I've tried moleskin but it hasn't helped. I have a few more ideas I'm working on -- a sliver of soft body sponge or a makeup remover pad -- we'll see how I look in the am or if I just create a lot of leaks.

Didn't mean to rattle on.

Thanks Jim -- you're right -- a good start. And I feel great about it. I obviously don't understand how to input info in my profile other than the options given. If I can remember all the various names/numbers, I have a Respironics RemStar Pro2 M-Series CPAP w/HH (I think there's a 2 after Pro). The mask I'm currently trying is a Fisher-Paykel FlexFit HC 432 FF mask (medium, I think) . I actually have the Encore Pro 1.71... software, a smartcard that came with the CPAP, and a MAKO DT3500 (I think that number is correct). My memory still isn't worth a darn -- hoping that improves like my previous headaches have.

I've been reading my detailed reports daily since 12/15/06 when I wore a different mask for the first night, which didn't fit well at all. Anyway, the Encore Pro is working well. I've not yet downloaded the MyEncore analyzer software. Will do that soon.

Thanks again for the feedback and for the encouragement.

Cathy

Oops, it's me again -- my pressure is set at 7.
