Does anyone know if it's safe/effective to use the Nasalaire II prongs with the Remstar machine? I used the Nasalaire II at my titration study (my request, couldn't stand the mask on my face) and slept very well. The Comforlite 2 nasal interface is OK as long as I'm on my back...but in any other position, seems to leak and I end up taking it off during the night. I also really dislike the "headgear" coming down on my forehead. I tried it (Nasalaire II) once and it seemed the machine was working harder (my pressure setting is 14). Maybe just my imagination?
Thanks for your input,
Diana

I use a RemStar and have the NasalAire II. Even though it's not my preffered interface, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be perfectly safe to use with any machine.

Hi Diane,
I am glad you like the NA II. I love mine.
You should have no problem using it with the Plus or any machine.
If the machine is working extra hard or sounds like it to you, are you by any chance blocking the air flow from the tubes being bent?
At a pressure of 14, if the NA II is a very snug fit, the prongs should be able to stay on.

I can do this, I will do this.

Another possibility is that the mask has a higher designed leak rate (or perhaps is leaking more than it was designed to), which would mean the machine would need to "pump" more to maintain the correct pressure.SelfSeeker wrote:If the machine is working extra hard or sounds like it to you, are you by any chance blocking the air flow from the tubes being bent?
