Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
Re: Clenching neck and jaw all night, drowning sensations, face wrinkling, losing sense of taste
I also have lower-jaw clenching/discomfort. Feels like I cannot sit my tongue anywhere comfortably in my mouth. Have had it occasionally even before using CPAP, I think it was back when I used to chew gum, but it came back as soon as I started using CPAP for some reason also.

WOW....that's amazing since in this thread you say you haven't even been able to sleep with it yet and just started cpap.Retal wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 3:28 pmI also have lower-jaw clenching/discomfort. How are you doing Ralph? You might want to pay a little closer to your lies and keep them straight.
Have a nice day.

Where's the lie? I got the machine on Friday and have been using it for the past three days, the first two nights of which I've had sticky/dry mouth and clenched jaw. Could be a coincidence but I consider it is related to the machine.
Why are you being so hostile? Just because I wanted to choose the topic for my own post or are you angry that I'm anti-CPAP?

Were you able to resolve your neck muscle issue? I have the same problem, and I feel like it's destroying my life. I'm not due a new mask until next month, but thought I'd go in and get fitted for a different one and see if that helps. I wear the dreamwear one currently. I've been on CPAP for about 9 years, and it's steadily getting worse.

the op hasn't been here since july, so don't think we'll ever know.Susie1961 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:04 pmWere you able to resolve your neck muscle issue? Google Torticollis and see if it fits.

After 9 years it's odd to attribute this to CPAP, but worth trying a new mask. If it doesn't help, you need to see your doctor. It's far more likely to be an orthopedic issue like a cervical disk problem. You may need to consult a PT about bed positioning (maybe a problem with pillows?) exercise and relaxation techniques for your neck muscles. I know getting in to actually get an exam by a doctor or PT is difficult, but so is living with constant neck pain. Were you able to resolve your neck muscle issue?
