I see nothing on the reports or the zoomed in image to be able to blame unwanted symptoms on.
Boring report...look elsewhere for reasons for feeling like crap.
Yeah I suspected that. Whats annoying is the PS I had after all these home studies they said no OA or CA, only UARS and snoring. So thats made me wonder if these studies are to be trusted.
After seeing 12 specialists it was suggested that I may have ME/CFS. I do have post exertion malaise and unrefreshing sleep like most ME/CFS patients have, but I dont have a ton of the other symptoms they have, so that leaves me questioning that diagnosis as well.

Its tough to admit but some days I truely just feel like chucking in the towel. My body is just wrecked from going on almost 6 years of terrible sleep every night.

You might take the time to scroll through the flow rate zoomed in and look for just arousal breathing segments to see how many you have.
We don't always remember arousals but they can still wreck the sleep architecture.
Arousal breathing is much more irregular than asleep breathing. It might be a long segment or a short segment.
Do you know how and what to look for?
It won't tell you what caused the arousal though.
There are 2 kinds of arousals.....airway related and thus breathing related arousals and spontaneous arousals from some other unknown cause. CPAP only fixes arousals that come from the airway related issues....doesn't do anything for spontaneous arousals.
Even in a sleep lab setting all the tech knows is there was an arousal and he can see if it is breathing related or not...but if not related to breathing it is a spontaneous arousal and he won't know what caused it unless he can note some external factor that might have happened at the same time to explain it away.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Hi Pugsy, thanks for taking the time to respond. I dont really know what to look for no, but I'll have a scroll through and maybe post some screen grabs? I thought that was what I was showing on the zoomed in chart?

I think you may be referring to these types of events, no?

Arousals are irregular breathing when compared to asleep breathing.
Below is an example of asleep breathing circled in red and then followed by all arousal breathing.
Usually fairly easy to spot the difference. The one you circled as an example...it isn't so easy but it's so short lived if it is arousal I don't know that it would really impact the sleep architecture all that much...it's just a handful of breaths. Arousals that can mess with sleep architecture and cause sleep cycle resets tend to be much longer in duration and much more pronounced....see below image
The second 2 that you circled...the second one later for sure arousal and it seems to last for at least a minute or so...it is possible that this could impact sleep quality. The first one of the two...again a bit iffy.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

If you don't see much air flow reduction or flagged events just prior to arousal segments...it's unlikely that the arousal is airway or breathing related. That leaves spontaneous and we don't know the cause. Have to look elsewhere for the crappy sleep cause because if it isn't airway related then cpap can't do anything about it.

Agreed.
So many other things to blame.
Maybe a full blood panel would give a clue.

I do have a bit of flow limitation i see. I thought the higher pressures would fix that? But that isnt happening throughout the night it seems. Arousals occuring even when they are not showing on the graph.
I have however heard what sounds like fast limb movements on Snorelab which I still dont yet know what they are. I ordered a night vision camera a few months back which turned out to be crap and had to send back. Same for the Oximeter I also bought. Was hoping that something would show up (ie heart rate / movement etc).
I did try recording video with my cellphone before but couldnt get to sleep with the light on (even with an eye mask). Will have to give it another go again....

One option would be a security camera with night vision. I have not bought any, but there are some cheap ones on Amazon.
When I had my sleep study they used such a camera...

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

Thanks. I bought a IP night vision camera but it was also a load of crud. The recordings on the SD card would go corrupt after an hour of recording and become unusable. The thing is lying in my cupboard now. The amount of money I have blown on this mystery....
I am looking into buying a CCTV setup with a dedicated hard drive. That will work, just a bit more pricey, but may not reveal anything in the end.

Be sure to compare price to the Arlo -
It connects via wire to your internet but the camera is wirelss and can be placed anywhere and can be moved anywhere within range of the signal. The pics are uploaded to your cloud account with 7 days of FREE storage and can be viewed on your phone or PC or shared or sent to others.. Just download the ones you want to keep longer.
I have seen Arlo cameras at store such as Costco, Best Buy, etc. and of course Amazon.

Hey thanks thats an option. Looks like a handy gadget and I like the fact that it uploads to cloud and doesnt use SD strorage. It is however way more expensive than buying a CCTV system I see (due to the poor exchange rate here in South Africa).
