Making videos about APNEA and CPAP

Post by Fejsbukpejdz » Mon Jun 08, 2020 5:21 pm

Hello, I'm that med student who you guys helped out so much in the past couple of weeks.
I have a somewhat popular medical channel and I realized I could make a series of videos about apnea and not just diagnostics but also about the treatment.

I want to round it up form beginning till the end. And I want to include it ALL

After that I want to put all those videos and info in one huge long video that has it all, so once you're on that vide you got 1. symptoms 2. diagnsotics (full, with PSG, data interpretation, cheap devices where to get them how, limitations of APAP machines or polysomnograms without EEG) 3. pathophysiology 4 treatment (ALL of it, oral appliances, bed and pillow set up, CPAP, APAP, Self-titration, BiPAP, surgery) 5. prognosis.
All in one video.

Even if it's more than 10 hours video.

I want to include relevant studies for at least most of the solid firm claims and statements in videos, so you can also post studies here, whichever you found relevant. Whether it's a study that proves it helps people with executive tasks and memory after 3 or 12 months or it's a study that states you are in trouble if you quit your therapy lol. Whatever you find interesting and whatever you've discovered in your life with this tricky little disorder. You can write it as a reply.

Whatever you guys thing should be mentioned that is not often said, some tricks and some downfalls or advice that can help, let me know and write it, I will make sure I include it in the videos.

That is, unless it is something off topic and completely senseless contradictory or in contradiction with the peer reviewed publications, I won't be able to include it. :D
I am still learning about the topic so each thing I include, I will have to dig deep and review.

At least so much I can do to pay back
This forum is awesome and you guys are awesome.

For example this:

home EEG devices?

Do you have experiences with those?
Are they crap or they actually do provide some basic information.

Any help would be useful.

Any tip, info because I'll be gathering and digging through information for at least 1 or 2 months...

Very ambitious, but... to consider... so much info here is relevant to the U.S, Canada, the U.K., etc. etc... and how much of that will make sense where you are is another story.

So much of what you want to include (as videos?) is about e.g. providers (DMEs = durable medical equipment sellers) 'here', a lot of talk re insurance plans (mostly in the US), all kinds of things such as cultural references as to how things are explained, comments, etc. which may or may not confuse things depending on what you do with your collection, and lots of explanation re therapy, machines (and who makes and sells them where in the world), not to mention what I think you may not realize is an enormous, huge amount of info altogether, just from this forum going back many years, but also in the 'search' files, or from other forums. And what may have worked for many 10 yrs ago, may no longer be the case now.

And of course not necessarily knowing the long term outcomes of some stories here where members thought they found the 'answer's (for them, possibly, but for others???) and while lots of that is shared and proven to work, there are always exceptions. Always.

And you may not realize it, but there are already videos, mostly on You Tube, re equipment, 'tricks' for making things work, how to do what, etc. etc.

Just a bit to think about while you're trying to complete your study curriculum! :D

PS - I think there may be a few, but not many home EEG 'devices', though likely many more home 02 overnight monitors and blood pressure devices.

Already making first 2 videos but my professor will check them and I'd like to share them here just to get feedback and review with a private link before publishing them on the channels we run...

yep :) my self :D

the studio belongs to the university clinic. They have 3 to 4 more recording rooms for all sorts of stuff you want and it's easy to get it. Green screens, blue screens, medical devices and phantom dolls for instructional videos, all the gear and buildings and computers microphones, audio tretment with resonating acoutic panels, you name it... Weirdly not many students apply to use it, even the doctors who work with patients and make instructional materials for patients don't use it unless they're forced to make something. It has to be medical content and usually they review what we do... Just in case someone decides to record his rock album :D
