Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
Hi All-
I did a sleep study and my AHI was 5.7, just barely over the requirement to try (and have insurance pay for) a CPAP Machine. I'm using the DreamStation by Philips and at first (about 10 months ago), I felt I was getting a better quality sleep and now I'm not so sure. I'd like to explore why this might be and also why my morning migraines (about 3 or 4 per month) have not decreased.
I see that others have included attachments of graphs with their sleeping data, how do I access that? I figured that I'll start there.
Many many thanks!

We use free software.

What machine brand and model are you using? The software and graphs depend on brand and model. It's not compatible with all brands and not all model collect the detailed data needed to obtain the graphs.

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
Thank you for your quick response!
I'm using the Philips Respironics DreamStation.
I was just reading about "Oscar" (I saw it mentioned in a post about UARS). If I download that software, how does it get my sleep data? Do I take the sim card out of my CPAP machine and insert it into my computer somehow?
I will read the post you put a link to right now...
Many thanks!

Which DreamStation model? There are at least a half a dozen models.
If unsure....look on the bottom of the blower unit for a model number which begins with DSX.
It's not a sim card....it's a SD card and yes you have to remove the SD card from the cpap machine and insert it in your computer to download the data that the machine has written to the SD card.

Again, thank you for your quick response!
I just looked at my CPAP-- the number on the bottom is DSX500T11C.

... are there any posts on how to take the SD card out of my machine without breaking something? I'm not super tech savvy (but I'm good at following directions).
Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
Just gently push on the end of the SD card that you can see and feel. It should bounce out and release and enough of the end be sticking out that you can grab hold of it and finish removing it.

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
Thank you!
I'm at the Oscar download page and I clicked on Windows 64 bit. A pop-up is asking if I'd like to "save" the .exe file. I'd like to *RUN* the exe file, not save it! Argh. Do I have to save it before I can exe it?
(And I know these questions are borderline annoying.... I don't want to waste board space if these questions are answered elsewhere).
Thank you.

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
I always "save" downloads and then go into the download folder and click on it to install.
It's what I have always done with anything I download just in case I have a problem with the install process. I already have it downloaded and can install again.
Also means I have a copy of the program downloaded in case I have to remove or uninstall something. I save all downloads.
Your choice...when you click on "run" it will try to install....I think.
If your internet is a bit iffy the least little disruption will screw up the install.

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
Thank you-- I just downloaded Oscar!
Now I think I just need to purchase an SD Reader and then I can download my info!

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
Soooooooooooo I'm at Amazon and there are a whole bunch of different SD Card readers. Who knew.
Any suggestions on which one to purchase so I get one that my DreamStation card will actually fit into?
And last question (ha ha, who am I kidding), the OSCAR software said to make sure that my SD card is "locked" before I put it into the reader... any idea how to do this?
(In my next life, I'm going to study computer science in college!).

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
What kind of computer do you use?
Most computers have a slot for the SD card already built in but sometimes hard to spot.
I have a laptop and the SD slot is in the side and was very hard to find.
If no slot....any cheap generic SD card adapter/reader will work. Don't spend a lot of money on it.
Just make sure it is a full size SD card adapter and not a micro SD card adapter.
WalMart has them.

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
I have a PC with Windows 64-bit and I have a feeling that doesn't answer your question. I don't think it has an SD card reader, so thanks for the tip on not needing a fancy one. I'll take another look for a reader and buy one from Amazon if I don't see it. (And then I'll download my info and be back, I'm sure, with more questions!).
Thank you thank you thank you!!

Re: Newbie- How to access the graphs w sleep data that you all post?
I now have a USB 3.0 Card Reader that can hopefully help me download info from my CPAP machine so I can run that through Oscar.
And although that sentence may (or may not) sound like I know what I'm doing, I don't. If someone could point me in the right direction or perhaps tell me how to do it (I'll find the sim card and pop it out of the CPAP and put it in the card reader, but what do I do after that?), I would appreciate it!
Many many many (many) thanks!
