Liquicell

Post by Potamantha » Thu Jun 04, 2020 7:55 am

About Liquicell.  It has NOT been discontinued; it just is not being sold by most CPap suppliers.  You can order it directly from Brichwood Laboratories in Minnesota.  Noone is carrying it because Phillips Respironics, who was the distributor, got in some kind of a dust up with Birchwood and decided they didn't want to deal with them anymore.  The "single" use" thing was added by Phillips.  No such restriction on the Birchwood package.  They say it is not subject to leaking or breaking; in fact they use the same technology to make car cushions. It is the only product that deals with the red on the bridge of my nose - I use two of them glued together. You really don't need the glue because the pressure of the mask keeps it in place. And I use one for 7 days.

This was my thought in the other thread:
"The question is--if Respironics sells this product, does that indicate they know
or even INTEND their masks to cause damage?"
Maybe there is a connection . . .
Anyway, after re-reading the other thread, I toally understand why we want to avoid reviving it."
Thank you for the information re: availability.
If the product shows promise, maybe cpap.com might carry it?

I had to look it up and the first thing that came up was Liquicell ON CPAP.Com  So yes, they carry it.

I think I tried one like that at the very beginning of my treatment. It caused the mask to leak like hell. No go for me.
