Need Help Problem After 1 Year - Please Review
Need Help Problem After 1 Year - Please Review
I've been doing pretty well for the past year on CPAP averaging >6 hours per night with an AHI < 1.0 using an AirFit F20. For the past month I've been taking my mask off after 1 hour (almost exactly) and when I put it back on at my minimum pressure it feels like I'm sticking my nose out the car window and I can't breath IN. This is new and hasn't been a problem during the previous year.
The OSCAR data I posted is very representative of the timing. I switched to the AirTouch F20 for comfort in the past week and I'm trying out the Endurimed CPAP pillow (switching from the Comfort Max 2.0).
Thanks for looking at my data. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

This is still happening. I only ever get between 1:50 and 2:05 minutes with the mask each night and feel like I've lost all therapeutic value from the machine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Would a med from the sleep doctor help?

My CPAP was plugged in behind the bed and the plug came loose from the socket. So the CPAP was stopping every night. It took me a little while to figure out that was the problem. I could see that happening and ripping off the mask while still mostly asleep.
Any chance that could be the issue?
Plugging it in where it wouldn't come out so easily solved my problem. Unless you have auto-stop enabled, it looks like the pressure just stops, not just removal of the mask.

Therein lies the rub. I have no recollection at all of doing it - just that it happens with precise timing between 1:50 and 2:05 of falling asleep (when I look at myAir). It's especially discouraging because I was doing pretty well and I started on the machine January 2019. I can't fathom why I would take it off every single night at the same time and not remember it.

I empathize with you

I will definitely check that aspect out. I was wondering if there could be something wrong with the machine. I thought if the machine had electrical issues that I would discover them before I fell asleep at some point. It's plugged in to a surge suppressor and the surge suppressor indicator lights show it is functioning correctly FWIW.Janknitz wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 2:25 pmMy CPAP was plugged in behind the bed and the plug came loose from the socket. The reason I think it is something to do with the machine, is that I think even if you have the autostop feature enabled the pressure wouldn't drop off so suddenly on the graph (I'm sure people who know more than I will correct this if I'm wrong). It seems to me if you rip the mask off first, it takes a certain amount of time (although brief) for the machine to recognize that you are no longer attached and that should show up on the graph.
The way the pressure just stops makes me suspicious that it's something to do with the machine.

Go into the clinical setup menu area and check to see if SmartStart is turned on or off.
If it is turned on....turn it off and let's see what happens tonight.
If it is already set to off....then there may indeed be a problem with the machine.
