I am a mouth breather, but find myself now happily getting easy, perfect seals using either ResMed’s pillow or nasal masks on the new N30i or P30i that has the lighter headgear. I do use a chin strap to keep my mouth closed. The sleep therapy WILL work for you. The point is, don’t give up. I have to admit that it was one of the hardest things I’ve done. I’m now feeling better than I have in probably two, three years. Have energy again and a new optimism. Millions of people have been down the same road as you are, just stick with it.
