Replacement Dreamwear mask causing burping

Post by Extradish » Wed May 13, 2020 11:23 am

I've been on CPAP therapy for about 4 years now due to mild/moderate sleep apnea.. First six months were hell, but I eventually got used to it and have been a faithful user of my Airsense 10 with a Dreamwear mask. I recently replaced my Dreamwear mask with another Dreamwear mask (same design) and am having problems with it. Specifically, I seem to be swallowing air, which is causing me to burp and pressure to build up (sort of feels like I am suffocating) that makes having the mask on uncomfortable. Since it is the same mask design that I was using before, I assume there is some problem with the fit. My machine is not indicating any problem with the mask fit. Can someone explain why I might be having this burping problem that is making it impossible for me to use my cpap? The mask seems to be tight enough. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. I will call my DME, but trust a forum like this with real users more.

Have you checked your software detailed data to see if maybe for some reason your machine is supplying higher pressures now than it used to?

I don't see it being related to the mask though....most likely aerophagia fr om some other issues and it just is a coincidence it popped up when you got a new mask.

Can you guide me to the software I can download that will allow me to read my detailed data?
