Old S9 CPAP...

Post by Prosleep » Sat May 09, 2020 10:12 am

My S9 had been replaced by AirSense 10 and my supplier did not want the old S9. Prior to throwing it out, just curious...

What are people doing with their old CPAP machines?

TIA...

I can keep it for spare, but the chances are that it won't be used again. The AS 10 is a better CPAP machine in number of different ways.

I'll ask my sleep center, if they'd want it...

The Airsense 10 is very similar technology as the S9....I have see numerous posts on this board from people with problems with the Airsense. If your machine falters, you will be without for a period of time while yours is replaced or repaired. Think twice before you get rid of it.

Call your local charities serving the homeless/displaced.
Some churches, as well as Matt Talbot kitchen.
If they cannot use it, they may know who would.

Do a search on this forum (and others) for people asking for advice because their CPAPS aren't working and it's going to take days or weeks for a replacement. We don't have with the intent on using them, we have them hoping to never use them.

Hey, look what we got here:
This poor slob had a power failure last night and when the power came back on, their machine was toast.

Sure hope they have a spare.

While we're on the subject; I have a spare tire in my car that I've never used and the chances are that it won't be used. What should I do with it?

And when your AS10 whatever dies unexpectedly on a friday night? what will you do then, after you get rid of your spare?

Always good to have a spare. If you already have a spare, donate it to a friend in need.

If you don't plan on a visit from Murphy's visit you can be sure he will come when you aren't prepared for him, he may bring friends, it won't be pretty. Jim

Thanks for the replies, but...

I see no reason to store the S9 for just in case; your health condition may dictates to you to have one, but mine does not.

I respect your choice and you should respect mine, instead of throwing spear tires in my way and/or sending Murphy over for a visit.

It never ceases to amuse me when people come in asking for advice, then get their panties all bunched up when the advice isn't what they want to hear.

Why even ask?

Do whatever you want with it, but don't come back here whining should your machine die on you.

ta ta!
