A Tragedy - A Warning

Post by mars » Fri May 08, 2020 2:29 am

Hi Everybody

In today's news was an item of one death (amongst many) - but it struck a chord with me.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-08/ ... l/12228490

I was lucky - nothing like it happened to me. And I never drove between 3pm and 5pm, because I knew that was when I was liable to fall asleep.

And before I started using cpap (whilst I was being originally tested) I used -

So stay safe - in every way possible.

As for covid-19 - for myself I err on the side of too much, rather than risk death because of too little.

for an an easier, cheaper and travel-easy sleep apnea treatment :D

Well look who it is! Funny how your name was mentioned on here to someone asking about positional apnea treatment just this week I think, now here you are. Hope you are doing well. And yes, that is a tragic news story. Probably many of us on here who thank their lucky stars or God that our sleepy driving didn't end in tragedy.

Since only a fraction of people with Covid19 have noticeable symptoms,
most do not know--or even suspect--that they may be contagious.
They do, however know whether or not they should be wearing a mask.
Which is every time they are around other people.
Masking up is more likely to save someone else's life than your own--
Too many forgo the mask, because they just don't care about anyone
--besides their own worthless selves.

I'm hoping this warning is for all the sleezeballs that poke their noses in here looking for a way to cheat at cpap, because their company requires it to continue with their job.

Thank you, sad news for both parties involved. The problem I see is...even if the driver did go through with sleep study/prescribed with cpap machine etc before this accident occur- the cpap usage/compliance rate amongst those who are diagnosed with SA hasn't been that high anyways so tragedies like these are bound to happen.

My question is- has there been any other legal precedents like these, particularly in the states?

Civil law will venture where criminal law has failed.
