Hi all,
I've been at my APAP for about 2 months now.
I used to wake up several times a night; now much better, maybe 2 or 3 including b-break
(my sleep study botch = here viewtopic.php?t=179037)
A typical day for me, before I increased minimum (to 6) looked like this:
I changed the minimum pressure to 6 with the result below.
Should I increase to 7?
would that eliminate those spikes between 21:40 - 23:00 and 1:40 - 2:30 that go to 7?
Thanks all so much for the feedback and learning on this board.
Increase minimum pressure?
Increase minimum pressure?

Re: Increase minimum pressure?
How are you sleeping and feeling? That's more important than numbers.
You could certainly try increasing the minimum...there is no urgent reason to do so but it hurts nothing to experiment and see if it helps anything or not.
It's normal to have changes in pressure needs throughout the night. That's why we use auto adjusting/apap mode machines.
Sometimes it is related to position...sometimes related to REM stage sleep. The whole idea of using apap mode is so the machine can go up if it needs to and back down when it doesn't need to.
I will often see 15 minimum...from my 7 minimum...it's REM related though. REM amounts to 20% of the night. I sure don't want to use 15 to deal with something that only happens 20% of the time.
You've got a lot of room to experiment though....there's no urgent need to use more minimum but you might find that you do feel and sleep a little better with a little more minimum.
Or you might find there is no change at all but at least you will have answered the "what if" question.
