Suggestions for reducing AHI’s

Post by CorgiWalker » Mon Apr 20, 2020 8:36 am

I started CPAP in 2018. I averaged about 3.5 AHI’s for the first year on the machine and started at 80. I was morbidly obese. My repetitive breathing was increasing. So, I turned off the EPR which helped. My AHI was still creeping up, so I contacted my CPR. She increased my pressures from 7-15 to 10-15. Starting in Dec, I have lost 31 pounds. So,I am still obese. But, my AHI’s have continued to rise. I am now averaging around 7. I am changing my cushions regularly. My charts in Oscar are so busy that I cannot determine anything obvious. Any suggestions?

Impossible to offer ideas on reducing AHI numbers without knowing what the 3 event categories that compose the AHI are.

Post a typical detail report per the guidelines in this thread.

Why not post the last few days of daily charts? Hiding snore events usually helps declutter the flow rate chart.

You have April 19 twice from what I can see.

I suspect you need more minimum pressure as well as more maximum.

Wow, it didn’t take the 2 different files. They aren’t very different, though. Thank you for the feedback, Pugsy! I will try upping and see what it does. Then, I can talk to the pulmonologist’s again.
