New Hose Head here

Post by MarsMannix » Wed Dec 20, 2006 5:32 pm

hi i'm mars, 51 y.o, married female refried hippied and free-lance biker poet.
just dx'd w/ OSA and on my 7th night of therapy.
Last night was my first night of sleeping all night with The Hose.
I have a Respironics MSeries box, and a Puritan Bennet Breeze headgear w/ nasal pillows. My pressure is set to 11

I have a BMI of 48 and you know what that means.

I have worn the mask every night since i got it alst week and am trying very hard to adjust to it. I feel so unsexy with it on.

I also have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain, severe foot problems (structural) in both feet, a missing ACL in my knee (both of which have oa) tendonitis and bursitis in both elbows and hips. also depression

BUT THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE ANY ALLERGIES

I'm hoping to get lots of help here and mainly right now want to understnad my sleep study results, I'm finding what appear to be arithmatic errors.

thanks!!!
Mars

Welcome to the forum. If you fill in your profile you will get better answers to your questions. If you post all the data from your sleep study someone will be able to explain what it all means.
Keep wearing that mask! This treatment works if you let it. When (should say if) you have a problem, just post it and someone will be by to help.

Brenda

Welcome. You have come the right place. I have been hose addicted for 8 month now, and it has changed my life. Hang in there, it is a lot to get used to. As for feeling sexy in my mask, ok I don't either, but not snoring my wife awake and tossing and turning has made me look a lot sexier to her when the mask is off. besides I can't see my mask in my dreams, and since APAPing my dream have gotten so much better.

Unfortunately, OSA treatment pretty much ends romantic cuddling. You get used to it, I guess.

Hey, you don't always have to be the spooner, you can be the spoonee.

I'm nearly one week into therapy. It will get a little easier, I promise. Hang in there and keep us posted on how it goes. Good Luck and welcome to the family.

Welcome, I hope you don't feel left out, most of us have ALLERGIES, and lots of problems also.

XPAP shouldn't affect Sexy, You only need it for sleep, and those two things aren't compadable. Any way Sexy, is a frame of mind, if it's there it's hard to hide. If it's not it's hard to fake. Jim
