...and you have a document that says you have significant OSA, he can't (or won't) be able to use many tools until the OSA is "under control"
Ok, I am fine to try one.
Wait until you are absolutely certain that the sleep study is valid. If you don't have OSA (which is the position you should be taking right now) ANY machine will give you an 0.0 AHI (after all, the ApneaLink did, without even using CPAP!) so "under control" shouldn't be an issue.

However, a diagnosis of sleep apnea can haunt you the rest of your life, raising insurance premiums, getting denied life insurance, and having your inbox packed with junk from online CPAP companies.

Therefore getting "under control" could include having them retract the diagnosis.

AAMOF, I'm doing some major changes on my health care coverage, and one of 5 things they ask if you have a pre-existing condition for is...

...you guessed it.

If you have 102 respiratory events, you should have 102 respiratory arousals, but you only have 49. Therefore, you're having 30 second apneas that are not terminated by an arousal, which is pretty much impossible.

However, since technically you don't NEED an arousal to score an apnea, this is a misdemeanor instead of a felony.

Continuing the premise that you have zero respiratory events, we are still left with a significant number of arousals (98, or AI 20). If these are scored correctly, this would be a major contributor to sleepiness (respiratory events left unto themselves do not cause sleepiness. It is the breaks in sleep continuity that terminate them that cause sleepiness).

BTW do you believe in the concept of "Sleep Debt"? Totaling the amount of sleep from your RingThing (assuming it's at least somewhat accurate), you average 6.2 hours. That is insufficient:

Not to mention (that expression never made sense to me. Inevitably, when someone says "not to mention", they immediately "mention") that you have at least 4 nights that are TERRIBLE in re: sleep quantity.

I think I get it. But, I'm a little concerned sharing my thoughts about it, at least on this planet, might be forbidden.
Exactly!

And as in the film, morbius would end up destroying the evil world (not to mention himself)(see, there it is again!) allowing only the good to live on (for the most part anyway) in The War For Moderation.

It's been fun, but I really have to go...

Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Update:
There was a waiting list for my sleep doctor and a second in lab sleep study at a new lab recommended by this doctor (noticeably more professional environment than the previous one), as well as COVID19 short-staff related delays, but I finally had a results-review call with my sleep doctor today.

Recommendation is a CPAP (APAP) from AeroCare. Is the recommended go-to still Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for Her?

Feedback from doctor:
Do not have full OSA
Hypnogram shows fragmented sleep
10.6% deep sleep
Deep sleep later in the night
Apnea-Hypopnea Index: 1.5/hour
Respiratory Even Related Arousals elevated: 20.2/hour
Respiratory Disturbance Index: 21.7/hour
"my brain is likely waking up from these RERAs"
