BiPAP autoSV Adv 60 Srs filters blowing out
BiPAP autoSV Adv 60 Srs filters blowing out
I've been using this machine over a year. I recently switched from the Quattro full mask to a ResMed AirFit F20. Now the filters keep coming out of the machine. They are halfway out to completely missing by morning. Any ideas why this is happening and what to do to fix the problem?
Re: BiPAP autoSV Adv 60 Srs filters blowing out
Have you been maybe coughing a little more lately?
Coughing when wearing a full face mask seems to create some back pressure that will cause those filters (which are already just barely staying in place) to go flying out.
Take a skinny rubber band and wrap it around the machine and filter to help it stay put.
That's what a lot of people did back when we had the M series and the System One series that had those filters just barely being held in place.

I will try the rubber band. It seems strange to me that the problem was never seen with the ResMed Mirage Quattro™ Full Face CPAP Mask but is with the new one...Pugsy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 5:54 amHave you been maybe coughing a little more lately?

+1 on the rubber band. That's what I did on my Respironics 960 ASV machine and the problem was solved.
As to the mask switch, looking at pictures of the two masks, the F20 seems to have a smaller cavity than the QUATTRO. Perhaps the smaller volume inside the mask is letting coughing back pressure get back to the filter.
I don't have either, so this is just speculation based on online images.
