Is SoClean making my chest hurt?

Post by bibslady » Sat Mar 07, 2020 1:30 pm

I finally bought a SoClean machine. I used the machine and that night, it was a bit "smelly', but I worked through it and got to sleep. However, the next day, my chest hurt so much, it was like my lungs felt over-extended! The more I moved around the more it hurt. Thankfully I have a desk job and was able to get through the day. When I got home, it still hurt and I was short of breath. I went to bed. The next day (today) is much better. Just a little short of breath, but pain is almost gone.

Has anyone else experienced such a thing? Thank you.

Hello, I’m new here but I believe the FDA is advising against using SoClean & other products like it. Read here: http://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-an ... one-gas-or

If you have read many posts here you would know the general consensus is SoClean is socr@p. Soap and water is a much better method of cleaning your gear. ResMed say using SoClean voids their warrantee.

I'd see your MD if possible to be sure you're ok (ozone is not a desirable inhalant at any time).

It's probably caused by a change in your posture. By taking that $300.00 from your wallet and giving it to shysters, has been known to affect leaning when walking. No I did not say, Learning while walking.

Send it back to them for a refund, Walk Proud again! Jim

Any residual ozone in the equipment can damage your lungs. Send the thing back and get your money back.

Resmed has stated that using it can void the warranty on the machine, and as mentioned, the FDA recommends against them.

Thank you everyone for your advice and links. After reading some of the FDA links, it sounds like the ozone may have singed my lungs. I am still short of breath and there is still pain, but not as bad as the first day. Calling my Pulmonology Dr. tomorrow. I will be packing up the SoClean machine today and shipping it back tomorrow. I've only had it a week, so I'm hoping for a refund.

Thanks again everyone!

Glad you're getting looked at by your doctor. Ozone is not to be trifled with.

Ozone, or O3, is a highly reactant oxidizer that is harmful to humans if inhaled. Please see the following well done EPA site regarding the adverse health effects of inhaling Ozone:

First, you need to call and get a Return Authorization number to put on the package and inside the package. Without this, you'll probably never get a penny back.

Yep, got the RMA and they sent me a label. It went back via Fed-X today. I'm feeling much better now. Still having a few residual effects, but much better. Thank you everyone!
