Pursuant to the advice of the group in my last post, I raised my pressure settings on my airsense10 from the 4-20 to 7-20, turned the EPR on and set it to 3. The DME tech/RT did something to my ramp settings, but I'm not sure what was changed. I may have turned ramp off. Anyhow, with the higher pressure, I'm able to get used to wearing the mask and even started dozing off with it on, graduated to little daytime naps, and got to the point where I have actually slept with in on at night a few times.
I'm still getting apneas and awakenings, and the machine indicates some central apneas. The total number of apneas is 1-2 per hour. Because I did a home sleep test due to disability posing complications with the in clinic study, I don't believe they looked at whether or not I was having central apneas. It was not mentioned to me. I guess next step is to actually get that software and start looking at my data. Which one works for Mac?
So I wear a full face mask and it fits great with zero leaks. But at night, I'm struggling with waking up from my apneas, gasping for air, feeling suffocated, and then taking the mask off because the air feels warmer and more humid and less "fresh" than the air in the room. Most of the time I don't remember doing it, but sometimes I do. I usually turn the machine off and take off my mask without realizing it, but last night I remember doing that, falling asleep and forgetting to put my mask back on, walking up from another apnea, putting my mask on, falling asleep, and waking up again, putting my mask back on and going back to sleep. Woke up at about six am. Didn't go back to sleep. So I'm getting some air hunger and still waking from my apneas, and it's kind of complicated by taking the mask off. I'll get the app or program to track what's happening.
Any thoughts at this juncture though? Anything I could do to get more comfortable with the mask, air hunger, etc?
Hey I finally got a little sleep! If only I could keep from taking my mask off...
