A newbie has some questions.

Post by Iron Horse » Sun Feb 23, 2020 3:43 pm

So, after only three weeks with therapy I can say this is already helping. I just need some advice about the events I see now and where to go from here.

Changing my mask to the Brevida has eliminated most of the discomfort. I guess I'm also just getting used to the feeling.

This is from last night. I woke up feeling rested but with soreness from having slept too long in one position I guess.

Looking at the events, I wonder about some things.
In this one is it really a CA or was I just re-positioning? The flow before the event seems to me like I was asleep.

The OA not long after....

And these Hypopnea are very curious so close together.

Over all, you are looking pretty good. The pressure spikes happen when you machine gets bored because nothing is happening, so it spikes the pressure just to see if something happens. The first OA you showed is probably a real event. The hypopneas appear to be sleep wake junk. You could raise your pressure slightly to 9.0 or 9.5 if you wanted to, but I don't see any real necessity to do so.

for those wondering, this is how the horse started out-

pretty good advancement, i'd say.

Ha! I had no idea the machine could get bored and just start to mess with me!
Thanks Okie for explaining the pulses.

Zonk, I wasn't going to bore folks with a lot of past stuff but when you pointed it out it really does look a lot different. I have been so interested in the daily charts I couldn't see what was really happening. Thanks for pointing it out.

I'll try to relax and enjoy the ride for a while.

when one first comes to the forum, i think it's a good idea to stay in one thread so's folk can see how the newbie is doing.

and yeah, i know what you mean about looking at the dailies. but mostly it's the long term averages that can tell us a lot. once you have accumulated even more data, start looking at the "statistics" page. i like to look at mine from time to time, because i find it interesting that my ahi overall looks even better than i thought.

so yeah, sit back and let it roll.

and if you have any questions or concerns, just bring them up here in this thread.

Congratulations on the progress! When I look at Oscar, I sometimes spend more time on the Overview page than on the Daily page. When you've accumulated a fair amount of data, a neat thing you can do is to click Everything at the bottom of the page, then select different time periods within the charts and see how the mean values vary.
