My sister in law had her meeting with the Sleep Clinic Doctor yesterday.

And yes, she was diagnosed with Severe OSA, though she doesn't remember what her AHI was reported.

She told the Dr.:

• She had been using my spare device
• The settings of 7.4-10 was keeping her at about 1.0
• She wanted a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her
• She wanted a ResMed N30i mask

The Dr. told her to thank me for doing all the hard work, wrote her a prescription for a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her and forwarded her perscription to the DME to get her her machine.

Today mark's the two month Anniversary of Sister-in-Law having her own device.

I was actually very impressed with her sleep Doctor.

After her diagnosis:
during her consultation, Sister-in-Law informed Dr that she had been on CPAP a few months
the Dr set the machine according to the numbers we had titrated her at
has checked her progress "on-line" a few times, verified her numbers are good
encouraged Sister-in-law to setup an appointment if she has any concerns

During the last two months while being monitored by the clinic, I made a point of not managing her machine. Let them set it up and then if needed we can optimize later. Her pressures are exactly what we determined. The only differences being, it's been set to APAP for Her mode, and Ramp is 45 minutes instead of Auto.

Sister-in-Law loves her CPAP, AHI 0.58 over the last two months, sleeps through the night, no longer needs naps in the day. She is completely disinterested in managing her own own settings, not interested in her numbers, OSCAR or MyAir. She wakes up, looks at the display, and forgets about it til she goes to bed at night.

She's good with me downloading her data, looking for any trends and if any changes or optimizations are needed, we'll take care of it.

I agree, I like Auto for myself, at least I did prior to moving to the AirCurve. And 45 minutes of ramp-compromised therapy is overkill. Especially now that she's accustomed to CPAP and falls asleep in minutes.

I keep my ramp set at 15 minutes. I normally fall asleep between 10 and fifteen minutes after starting the machine. My ramp starts with the IPAP set to 14 it goes up from there.

Very great story...You were able to properly diagnose your SIL and got her treatments months before she was able to be seen....WTG

I think I heard of a case where someone bashed in their spouses head with a AS 10 Autoset.

When I get my new AS10 autoset for her, the old one is being offered to the bullfrog.
He has not been using his S9 Autoset, but may finally be talked into giving it another shot.
I am in no mood to look for a replacement bullfrog.
They are impossible to train.
