My Remstar has no data recording ability

Post by rxcpap » Sun Dec 17, 2006 6:26 pm

My machine has no ability to record any data, I have had it for a month, and it seems to be working fine, but my model does not have the ability to
tell me much. How does all this DME stuff work? Can I go to my DME and ask for another machine with that ability, or do I need a physician's prescription to do so?

Thanks!

Depends on your DME and how much you're willing to whine. Sometimes the DME will just change it if you ask, sometimes you have to whine and sometimes you need a new perscription.

Your best bet is to go back to your sleep doctor and talk some turkey with him.

Other than that about the only way you will get thru to the DME supplier is if you threaten to return the machine you now have. They get paid the same whether they give you a low-end or a high-end machine so naturally they are going to go w/the cheapest machine they can get away with. The billing code for insurance purposes is the same for a low-end machine as it is for a high-end machine.
