Yep.....big surprise....better late than never. They just made it official what we have always suspected.
Someone just posted the pdf document for those who can't get the video to load (like me).

Re: ResMed Warranty update Re: Ozone
Now that ResMed has taken a stand, I will not be surprised if other manufacturers do the same. This gives them a way to not fix machines under warranty. All they have to do is say it looks like an ozone sterilizer was used, and it will be up to you to prove you didn't. I don't know if they would do this or not. I like to think they wouldn't unless there is some obvious damage that can be linked to zone exposure. Personally, I would not have one of them in my house, little lone use one. I have enough breathing problems without introducing ozone into the mix.

Re: ResMed Warranty update Re: Ozone
We've seen at least one person who'd been using soclean, and the sound deadening foam in the machine was coming apart and getting blown into the water tank. I'm guessing Resmed knows what to look for.Okie bipap wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:14 pmNow that ResMed has taken a stand, I will not be surprised if other manufacturers do the same. Re: ResMed Warranty update Re: Ozone
What is odd is that the device provider in the video is so sure that So Clean hasnt caused damage in the ResMed units theyve sold they are willing to warranty them regardless of the change in ResMed’s policy.

Re: ResMed Warranty update Re: Ozone
Absolutely. And there is nothing odd about it at all. Similar to insurance, it's a bean-counter game. These guys who are claiming to honour ResMed's warranty are just betting that the sales they receive, will be greater than the damaged machines that occur within the warranty period.palerider wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:14 amThey don't want to loose sales.Nthernlgts wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:26 amWhat is odd is that the device provider in the video is so sure that So Clean hasnt caused damage in the ResMed units theyve sold they are willing to warranty them regardless of the change in ResMed’s policy.
And the potential ozone damage is a slow degradation. I would guess the a lot of damage will occur outside of the 2 year warranty period.
