Quick update - took the Go with the new humidifier on a three night trip. The humidifier doesn't add much size or weight but made a huge difference in comfort for me. The humidification is excellent, but it also made the noise transmitted through the tube almost non-existent. Really happy with what Philips Respironics has done here. I think this is without question the best travel machine on the market now.

I just got back from a 8 night trip abroad. With the humidifier, there was no notable difference to using my home machine. Now, there was a few hours one night without power, but that would have been terrible with any machine. I left the battery at home...

The one thing that kinda annoys me (but not enough to make a change) is the touch sensitive button to turn it off. It's harder to find than a physical button in low light, even when lit.

I have mixed thoughts on that, though I will say that I love that the Go lets you touch the touchscreen to enable ramp mode. With my Airsense I have to turn it off and back on to restart the ramp (when I wake up in the middle of the night, etc).

Does anyone have the pinout for the DC connection on the Dreamstation Go?

I would like to build a cable to hook up my external battery to my DSGo with humidifier to use DC directly.

I haven't tested this yet but I did buy a third-party DC cable for the Dreamstation Go (to connect to a third-party portable battery) and check the pins. If I got it right (and the manufacturer got it right), here's the pinout. The official battery is rated 18-24.6V DC so you would want to use a voltage somewhere in there for V+.

I'm calling the square pin (without a notched corner) Pin 1. Here's what it looks like when you're looking at the connector on the machine:

1: V+
2: Unconnected / Unknown
3: Unconnected / Unknown
4: GND
5: V+
6: Unconnected / Unknown
7: Unconnected / Unknown
8: GND

So that would be:

GND Unknown Unknown V+
GND Unknown Unknown V+ (no notch)

I tested the "Unknown" pins in the cable and none of them were connected to each other or anything on the other end of the adapter cable, so I don't think you have to do anything special to get the machine to accept the battery/cable.

Again, I have not tested this and doing anything with this information is done at your own risk of destroying the machine, starting a fire, etc.

It would be great if someone who had the official battery could turn it on and then check these pins (mirrored of course) on the battery side.

I have an AirSense10 APAP and love it. And I'm a person who needs a humidifier. Still, I travel a lot and would like to find something more compact for my trips. The DreamStation Go with humidifier is as close to a perfect travel machine for me as I can find. (Won't consider the ASMini due to lack of real humidifier). But the smaller specs of the DSG+humidifier aren't sufficient enough to justify a new machine versus continuing to travel with my AS10:

DSG+H - 11.7 x 5.9 x 2.3" 2.62 lbs
AS10 - 0.04 x 5.91 x 4.57" 2.75 lbs + power brick

Am I missing something here? Can anyone shed some light on the travel worthiness of the DSG+H before I abandon the idea and just keep travelling with my AS10?

I purchased a Dreamstation go last week and just finished traveling for 4 nights with it. Prior to that I had been traveling with a Dreamstation Auto. The go is a little smaller in every dimension, but what really makes it seem much smaller to me is that it is the extremely uniform in shape. I could never have fit my full-sized machine in my carry-on, but this sits well in a medium travel case right on top of some packing cubes in my carry-on.

Ditching the power brick also made a big difference as does the small 12mm hose. I went from carrying a separate CPAP bag to everything fitting in my carry-on suitcase (ebags TLS Motherlode Convertible) with everything I would normally carry. The machine itself is not massively smaller than my normal one, but the entire package is smaller due to the smaller hose, smaller power cord, and slightly smaller machine. I'm still not convinced it was worth the $750 I paid for it, but I think it will be in the long run.

Thanks for the reviews. I'm currently looking for a travel machine and these are the best reviews I've seen to date. Particularly the last one about the size, as I've seen the comparison photos and the Go didn't seem all that smaller - now with the last comment on its shape it all makes sense.

I watched every video of the Dreamstation Go that I could find as well as read tons of reviews. Many would talk about how it's about the same footprint as a regular Dreamstation, but they don't quite do justice to how much the shape makes a difference in packing. I'm a big fan and suspect I'll be using it more and more in the coming months.

Thanks for the feedback. Given the relatively small differences in size/wt. between the DSG and humidifier versus the A10, I will just stick to travelling with my A10 for now. If I didn't need humidification I'd buy the DSG in a heartbeat because of the size. Hopefully the technology will keep improving over time with even smaller/lighter machines, no power bricks, flexible humidifiers and/or HME's (that don't cause sinus issues) , etc.. I can see a day where there won't be a need for travel-specific PAP machines because they'll ALL be much more compact and flexible. Looking forward to the A11, or the equivalent DS...
