Our judicial system has fallen far short of providing justice for humans subjected to the unspeakable.
"General population" has made attempts to fill in the gaps, such as they can.
Even criminals feel a sense of outrage.
And once in a while more conscience than those considered more civilized.
Even the most totalitarian societies often feel the need to follow some sort of process. If somebody can take a shortcut and "decide" that Epstein is guilty without following process (and this is considered acceptable), that means that people can go around making "freelance" decisions about guilt or innocence in all sorts of other situations, and then take whatever action they decide is appropriate.
His death had nothing to do with what he did.
It had to do with what he knew.

JPB
and WHO he knew.

It is common knowledge that those who brutalize children "do not do well" in prison.
There is much evidence that some criminals cannot be rehabilitated.
It is what it is.
What happens behind the gray walls is like an alien world.
Those who interfere do so at their own risk.
Some will only be mourned by their legal team.

This was reported on 60 Minutes.

The most obvious question this raises is why would be fashioned a noose from a bedsheet, when it would have been simpler to fashion one from the electrical cord that was attached.

BTW, it appears it was a Philips Respironics System One CPAP.
Maybe he felt the cord was too short, and we know how uncomfortable some people Think XPAP's are, and decided to take the easy way out, or the wall plug was too close to the floor. Jim

In any case, off-label use is frowned upon.

No wonder he killed himself.
I'm not aware of anybody committing suicide to avoid using CPAP. That is unless you consider not using it when you need to be constitutes committing suicide.

If one has to explain their joke it's probably not very good.

But then again, sometimes when you have to explain a joke, it's not the joke.

There are many things you are not aware of! Not using XPAP when you need to is a form of suicide, or in the least stupidity. Jim

This is not normal for me, but this time I am firmly in agreement with D.H. here. As far as I can tell, there are two issues here: Vigilante justice and the irregularities with his "suicide". There is no place within a civil society for vigilantes to operate, because there is no due process built into such a system. Epstein should have seen the inside of a courtroom, where peers could judge him appropriately. Additionally, discovery within a legal framework leads to all sorts of information being released that the public has a right to know about. That simply won't happen now.

Secondly, I understand that he was not a good guy and that normal people all over the World are (understandably) relatively unconcerned that he is now deceased. I am one of them to some degree, however, I have to give thought to the possibility of how many more are now able to keep to the shadows and continue doing whatever they wish, since he is now gone. Is one monster gone worth allowing many monsters to go free? I don't think so, but maybe that's just me.

I don't believe in that many coincidences, and there are a vast many that shroud this mystery. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but there are some serious eyebrow raising facts surrounding this debacle. To some degree, I do mourn Epstein, not because of what happened, but because of what he likely knew. To me, he was the golden fishing lure, the one from which many would be brought to justice for daring to harm children. Unfortunately, his golden lure status also lured in his death, and that is a loss to society as a whole.

ABC had a two hour special on Epstein last night. In Texas they would say “That guy needed killin’.”
