To my knowledge 2 documents exist from the TSA regarding CPAP
1. Passengers with disabilities and medical conditions dated September 25 2006
2. Fact Sheet - Steps taken to ensure new security requirements preserve and respect civil rights
Are any other documents or later versions available.

I just flew to Las Vegas from Milwaukee and back again last week with zero problems. In fact, the first time I sent the machine through Xray, I told the attendant it was a CPAP machine. He said, "I know. It's the third one today". Just wish I'd had the same luck with the Vegas "machines":)

Traveling with CPAPS are getting more and more common for the TSA. There are certain secondary screening procedures they follow, but it should be a fairly easy process for the traveler.

I flew about 5 times inthe last two months. Multiple cities, multiple airports. All checked my CPAP for explosives but they all new immediately what it was. No hassles. Only SFO did not check the machine other than the xray. No idea why not.

Flew Dec. 13th with CPAP. All went smooth. Sent CPAP through XRay in case and then it was opened and manually inspected. The man who manually inspected it suggested next time I open it and put it in a bin (like with a laptop). I do have some reservations about putting the CPAP machine directly in the unsanitary bins.
