Can I use my old battery for new dreamstation?

Post by ThisIsMyUserName » Sun Dec 15, 2019 4:57 pm

I have a cpap battery pack from my old machine; the plug fits into the dreamstation, and it boots up but it says “check power”. A new battery pack is many hundreds, so I’d much rather find out if I can just use a new plug or some other way, but I can’t find anything on the topic. Any advice? I’ve attached pictures of the battery and plug. My old machine was a PR system one. Thanks in advance!!

I can't tell by the pictures but I wouldn't be surprised to find out the old battery just doesn't cut it with the DreamStation.
I had that happen with a battery pack I had that worked with the PR S1 50 series and wouldn't work with the 60 series even with a new plug. Just couldn't handle the power load.

If you got the battery at cpap.com and they still have it showing in their product list it might tell you if it was compatible with the DreamStation or not.

The specific battery is listed below, if it helps. I’ll try googling. Is there a setting or some such I can check for or maybe a different adaptor Or something?

You just likely need a new cable for the dreamstation.

Philips changed the cable needed between the System One 60 Series machines, and the Dreamstation.

I am not familiar with your battery. But I recently called Battery Power Solutions.net 877-445-5228 and they were very helpful.

I have a Dream Station 12 volt Adaptor and wanted to know if the BPS C100 battery would work with it. This battery has been replaced by the Freedom cpap Battery, which they also make. They said yes, however you cannot pigtail a C100 and a Freedom battery (for double the power).

If you are interested I could sell you the Dream Station Station 12 volt Adaptor (new and unused), and give you a good price on the C100. It has been used and recharged only a few times, during airplane travel. Call BPS and ask their advice 1st.
