Often sellers don't have a clue what they are selling and will use misleading information...and sometimes they know and are dishonest.

Yes....if it is an AutoSet it will clearly say AutoSet on the face of the machine. ResMed will clearly state their model names on their machines. A person just has to know which model does what and not rely on sellers description until you see a picture or at least a model number.

Meanwhile I will look for another one. Will it say Autoset on the top of the unit?
Yes, On the ResMed S9, it will say AutoSet upper, left. On the Resmed Airsense 10 it will say the model name lower right.

A lot of pictures don't have the clarity to clearly see the model number.

If you happen to find a 'VPAP Auto" for a great price, that's even better than an Autoset.

(That's how I ended up with a VPAP Auto, I was looking for an Autoset, and came across the one I use now at a great price.

Well now I have to do a Paypal dispute.

If anybody has a lead on something please let me know.

I'm feeling oxygen deprived. What can I do until I start therapy to help me?

I found a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for $295. That's about the top of my budget. OK deal?

Depending on hours, that's a pretty good deal, and a great machine.

Thanks again.

I paid via Paypal and with my credit card. They have not shipped it yet. I'm trying to cancel the order today.

Here is the title of the listing -

ResMed S9 AutoSet & H5I heated Humidifier with Carry Bag and SD Card Includes: Power Adapter
They may not have known which model they had since the manual lists 4 models including the autoset. Let them know you understand that they made a mistake, but since it is not what they advertised, they must accept that the order be cancelled. If they refuse, do a chargeback through your card or paypal. Make sure you take screen shots of the ad and the photos before they disappear.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

OK I now have a working used S9 AutoSet finally in front of me now. I have the clinical manual and I will be downloading Oscar (even though I don't know why yet LOL)

Anybody have any "pro tips" for me on set up, usage, maintenance, etc.

i'll tackle the oscar part. this software allows you to see which events make up your particular ahi. this is important as mine won't break down to the same events as yours. at first, there is no need to understand these events. or how they have an impact on your sleep.

every morning, you can find a chart, which gives you said break down. you can then capture that chart as an image and post it here. and i DO mean HERE in this thread. (no need to have people looking through multiple threads to keep track of you.) while these charts won't mean much to you(or to ME either, frankly), to the experts here, they will read as plain as print.

they then can give you advice as to what to change in your machine settings in order to optimize your therapy.

whew! sounds like a lot, right? but soon you'll get the hang of it and it will become second nature.

please see the "newbies" link in my sig. it will help you get started. just substitute "oscar" for "sleepyhead" and you'll be right.

always, ALWAYS feel free to ask questions as you go through this. folk are here to help.

you can do do this.

good luck!

Set it to a min pressure of 6, max 20, put the humidity on 3, and sleep with it for a night, then post an oscar chart.

Like that:wiki/index.php/Sleepyhead:Organize

OK first a little background. I'm 54 years old, non smoker, BMI of 22, moderate exercise, light drinker, healthy-ish eater. I have some "minor" health issues including HBP, GERD and TMD (which also causes major post nasal drip when I lay down, some hearing loss in that ear, etc). I have tried every remedy for those things. I take daily BP medication.

I've been averaging only 4.5 hours of sleep per night for over a year at least and can't seem to stay asleep. Waking up with HBP, headaches, need to catch my breath, takes half the day to recover, always tired, etc.

I had heart testing, pulmonary test, GI testing, etc. and all came out normal.

I set the machine pressure to min of 7 and max of 14. I had it on for 5 hours and slept about 4.5 as usual.

I am using a nasal mask. I had an "event" that woke me up at the 4.5 hour mark where I felt air blew out of my mouth like it was a pressure build up or something. I was breathing strictly through my nose the rest of the night. I woke up and was half asleep for the last half hour.

Here are my statistics from last night. About 9 episodes per hour so about right in the middle of mild. Any further analysis would be much appreciated.

I put the SD card back in the machine and now it says "invalid SD card". What happened?

Both Windows and Mac write temporary files to the SD Card. The S9 is sensitive to these files and issues that message.

You have remember to set the write protect on prior to inserting it into the computer and then off before putting back into your S9.

This is an S9 issue.

Nobody wants to see your statistics and there's nothing to act on. Format and post your charts. Palerider posted a link to the preferred format.

Lock the SD card before putting it in the computer.
Go ahead and let the machine reformat the card.
lock it next time before putting in the computer, unlock it before putting it back in the machine.
