Thank you Palerider. Whenever I have a bad day, I know that I can come on this forum and be lifted up by one of your inspiring, helpful, and caring posts. You are a little ball of sunshine.
If you want "sunshine", go outside.

If you want facts.... then read here.

If you want roses and lollypops, go to apneaboard.

*shrugs*.

No need to go outside, there is plenty in here. I am serious. You inspire me with your positivity. The warmness that you exude makes it's way through the internet. That is powerful stuff. It is a shame it can't be bottled.

You need to go back and read your own posts.

You are a jerk, but at least you are not helpful.

What is it about some posters that ask a question and when they do not get an answer they want.

They go into a snit.

That is an interesting take. I asked about the differences between 2 products because most prefer one over the other. There were many replies, and I learned much, and if I could do it again I would get the ResMed. The only thing that anyone paying attention could refer to as a snit was a comment I made about the way one person treats others. If that makes me a snitfitting jerk, I will wear that as a badge of honor.

I would disagree with the kindness of replies of palerider, but don’t disagree with your other comments. As for helpful here palerider has not been. More just brand loyalty information.

Get back on topic folks.
And if you don't know it....people's varying personalities or intelligence levels or how pleasant or unpleasant someone is or even how helpful someone is or isn't...and it isn't a sneaky way to be passive aggressive with snarky ass comments either. Don't pretend to be nice when you clearly aren't being nice.

is NOT the topic.

Further deviation from the original topic will cause the thread to be locked without further warning...
So...this is the only warning.

It seems that the majority of people here prefer the ResMed. Why is that? When I was diagnosed it was recommended that I get the Respironics Dreamstation, so that is what I have. If I remember correctly, the insurance company will pay for a machine every five years, so in less I am willing to buy a ResMed myself I will have to roll with this one for quite a while. I have no problems with it, but that could simply be because I don't know how much better off I would be with the ResMed.
Back to the original question: why do the majority of people here prefer the ResMed? Perhaps more ResMed users are active on this website and so you hear from them more often.

Do Doctors hand out more Resmed than Dreamstations these days? I feel like my only opinion was what my doctor gave me unless I want to go out of pocket.

Because, for most people that have tried both, with very few exceptions, those people get a better result, better rest, more comfort, with a Resmed machine compared to Philips respironics..

As was explained earlier, even at a fixed pressure, many prefer the pressure relief method that Resmed uses over the respironics, because they feel like the respironics is "rushing them to breathe" and the Resmed doesn't.
