Best travel cpap??

I'm looking to purchase a travel cpap. Any suggestions would be great.

Avoid the ResMed AirMini:

• No SD Card, therefore no data transfer.. So effectively it's a brick.
• Non-standard hose attachment, therefore limited hose and mask options.
• Only humidification option, HumidX inline attachment.

Define travel from your perspective. Does that mean airlines and hotel rooms? Backpacking? RV? Off-grid for days? Recharging from vehicle 12v? AC? Solar?

The five biggest factors are size, weight, power, your normal therapy, and power.

I just take my regular machine.
I am always comfortable in my sleep,
and the bullfrog obligingly totes the petite case for me.
(And my jug of distilled water)
I refuse to compromise on comfort and quiet.

I travel with my normal machine Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto when flying overseas. I also have an S9 BiLevel and usually leave my humidifier behind or in checked luggage when I fly interstate. When I drive, once again it's my normal machine which I put into the boot of the SUV. When flying I've worked out a system to sit the Aircurve on top of my roller suitcase and remove it when I check in. It does mean carrying the bag plus my traveling backpack at the same time but I've got use to it.

I carried my Resmed around Ireland and the UK for 2 months and it was easy. So my advice is travel with the machine you've already got if you are flying or driving. Camping, now that's a different story and better told by someone who does it.

My husband takes along his (usual) Airsense10 Autoset. He never uses the humidifier, just the side panel.

I used to travel with my Airsense 10 for her with the humidifier, until I ran into a problem boarding a plane in Sweden. They would not let me carry it on as an approved medical device, counted it as an EXTRA, told me I had to put it in my suitcase (I had a tiny purse as well). I was the last on the plane, frazzled and sweaty.

Now I travel with an Airmini. Yes, I DO miss the humidifier. But I have hacked it to be able to use it with my Bleep mask and it actually is much quieter than it originally was. It fits in a Vera Bradley lunch box so takes up very little space. I can even fit in my travel converter and silicone eye mask (but not very many DreamPorts...I find they require special handling to protect the adhesive). It works well for me and I am happy with it.

Some people hack the AirMini to use a regular hose and mask. I keep thinking about hacking the AirMini version of the P10 to work with a conventional Slimline hose.

Humidity is the troublemaker for size, weight, and power. I have used the Z1/Breas HME with the F20 and F30, but I'm not crazy about either option. It's better than nothing .... My usual mask is the P30i, which is not suitable for use with an HME because the hose attachment is too far from the cushion. The regular P10 has the same issue. Even though some complain about the noise and etc of the HumidX in the Airmini P10, it is the only option for an HME pillow mask that I know of, and I'd like to try it with my Vauto for operation from a battery.

I've had the Phillips Dreamstation Go for about 2 years now. Lightweight, easy to carry and there is no power brick. I use the standard 22mm hose with it. It has an extra USB port so I don't need to have a tranny for my phone, just the USB cable.

I used to take my Airsense 10 with me, but picked up an AirMini a little over a year ago and really have no complaints. Much, much easier to pack and it's nice knowing I have a backup if anything happens to either. I'll have no problems recommending it.

I purchased the Air Mini, since I am doing a safari next year and need to run it on battery some nights. I have only used it one night, since I haven't needed it, but will be taking it on a trip next month. The mini and case is much smaller and only weighs 2.5 pounds compared to the AirSense's 5.5 pounds. That's a big difference. I will be able to put it in my suitcase, rather than carrying it separately, like I had to do with the AirSense. I know that I could use a battery for the AirSense, but the battery will run much longer on the mini.

I looked at some of the other options, but really wanted to be able to continue to use the P10 mask, since I am very happy with it. The pricing was also quite good when I purchased it on sale from CPAP.com along with the 15% new customer discount.

I generally carry my Air Mini (packed in a soft lunchbox) packed in my carryon suitcase, which is sparsely packed. Last trip, I had no carryon, just a backpack and the lunchbox fit nicely in there, along with my meds, Bleep Dreamports, change of clothes,toothbrush, Kindle, etc. If I am using the carryon, I also have a large purse, with enough empty space to put the Air Mini/lunchbox if the airline insists my carryon be checked.

I probably wouldn't since I always have some type of carryon for my MacBook, medications and other stuff that I can't risk losing.

Right, ragtop. Without knowing the intended use, it doesn't make sense to make a recommendation.
