Respironics M Series

Post by ColoZZZ » Mon Dec 11, 2006 6:45 pm

I've heard that this model has a small reservoir for the heated humidifier and that it needs to be refilled during the night. Have others heard or experienced this?

Thanks,

--Andy

Depends on the humidity setting you use I think. In my case, I do refill every night. But I think at 1 or 2 I could go 2 nights.....

M-Series reservoir

I use a ResMed UMFF mask, and my HH is on 5 all the time. I typically go 7 hours on my machine per night, and have never "drained the tank" in use. I've gone as long as nine hours and still had water left in the reservoir.

Anecdotal evidence, but worth knowing.

I can go 2-3 nights on a tank. Half a tank per night is typical for me. With my Classic I used 1/2" per night and could go 5 or more days before refilling.

I think the M delivers much more moisture than the Classic even in passover mode (has much more water surface area and air channeling than the classic's tank).

cpap.com sent me a new tank and I've used it 3 nights so far filling the tank to the FULL level and so far so good, no water leaks inside the housing. Therapy wise I think its the best Remstar Auto model yet.

Andy......I'm running my M-series humidifier on a setting of "2"....and I can just barely go for (2) nights. Humidity averages about 40% and temperature is about 73 F in my bedroom. I've had my machine for about 90-days......"no runs, no drips, no errors". It's running fine.

I can get two nights on a 1 or 2 setting. With onset of indoor heating season and dry inside air, I need at least a 4 setting and use most of the tank at night. One night used setting of 5 and tank was dry by the end of an 8 hour night.

If your HH is running dry in one night, something is wrong, it's got a leak, or too hot, or due to mouthbreathing you are using more air than it was designed to handle. Jim

If it lasts one night, fill it back up. Simple.
