Heart Rates in the 40's- 50's at night

Post by SterlingBay » Tue Oct 22, 2019 1:42 pm

Does anyone else get low heart rates at night? I thought this APAP therapy I have been on for the last three weeks would help with this but some nights I get down as low as 44 beats per minute. I average in the 50's at rest.

Yes. Mine hovers around 50, and drips into the upper 40s at times.

I think that's normal.

Mine has started dipping into the mid 30's at night, but averages around 50 while i sleep. I saw a cardiologist about this and she said as long as it isn't causing problems while awake and that I am able to increase my heart rate with exercise that it isn't an issue. She said oxygen requirements are obviously lower while we sleep. She also said that when the heart beats slower, it has more time to fill with oxygenated blood so it's actually moving more blood volume with each beat.
