Well that didn't go all that great/newbie questions
Re: Well that didn't go all that great/newbie questions
So will the doctor write me a prescription just like for medicine and I can go buy it from any medical supply store? And do they work with the insurance company?

I sympathize with you Bubba. I also had my first sleep study this past week and it was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I only slept about 40 minutes and had remarkable anxiety for hours until I just couldn't take it anymore and left around 330 in the morning. I don't have anything to add other than I understand your frustration with it all.
Re: Well that didn't go all that great/newbie questions
After my Doc and sleep specialist told me my numbers and emhatically suggested that i get on a machine, i was contacted by another company whom my doc had sent my order for the cpap, i went there and they oriented me, i picked out a mask, and took it home.
then the bills started rolling in from the insurance company, at which point i just made installments and eventually paid it off.
During the 1st month everybody is on your ass watching your compliance, you're supposed to get a minimum of 4 hours a night for like the 1st 21 days and they call you once a week to check on you and see how its going. Once that's done, thats it and you'll never hear from Them again.
I have a high deductible on my insurance so I don't think it's ever actually benefitted me, so i don't even attempt to go through insurance now when i want a new mask or supplies, just find the best deal online and go for it, just like with anything else.

When I got home I slept a couple of hours, actually that was some of the best sleep I have had in a whiletarheelalum wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 8:32 pmI sympathize with you Bubba. Insurance companies are suspiciously self-serving.
Many patients can do better by going rogue.

Well the first night at home wasn't all that great. Woke up all during the night as usual and don't feel refreshed.

Will the resmed machine transmit the cellular data outside the USA?

It may transmit it. The question is: will it be received? And on what network?

Yes, if it is in a supported cellular phone system.
If not, when you get home or into a supported phone system, all data will be uploaded.

How was your AHI?
I'm on day 3 and feel like throwing mine out after three nights of fractured sleep, a bit frustrating when what is supposed to help you get better sleep is causing worse sleep... My AHI is good so it obviously works but I have been a light sleeper for years now unable to sleep with noise, lights etc so no surprise it is going to take a while to get used to it. Keep plugging away, adjust settings or try different masks etc until comfortable and eventually it will be worthwhile if it is dealing with AHI.

Some good informative reading here
http://adventures-in-hosehead-land.blog ... er_19.html
and in it there is mention of additional reading information
It took me over 3 months before my brain quit waking me up just to tell me something weird was on my face and I had zero problems with masks or leaks.
It's all a new sensory experience even at best....it simply can take time for people to adjust.
If there is a major issue sleeping or adjusting...consider sleep aid either OTC or even a discussion with your doctor about some short term RX sleep aid.

The my air app gave me a 95/100, 5 lost points from taking the mask off 10 times(see my beer thread as this is the root cause)
Re: Well that didn't go all that great/newbie questions
On my air it is listed as events per hour. I assume it is a reasonable number if you only lost points for taking mask off, my lost points have been due to shorter usage (6-6.5 hrs) two nights.
