Resmed Airsense S10 backup power
Sorry, I visit here now very rarely. Unlike the S9 with a 3 pin power connector (which needed a special 3.3 volt on the third pin for an external battery to work), the Resmed Airsense S10 appear to have a simple two pin power connector.
1. Does anybody know if a 24v battery can be simply connected for S10 to function from battery?
2. Does anybody know the type (electronics part model number) of the connector that male connector that plugs into the machine? I would like to buy just that connector and mating female matching connector. Any numbers for both the male and the female connectors?
Yes, I know there are ready made battery backup solutions with battery packs etc. My goal is to experiment... Thank you for any help.

Er, no, it's a three pin connection, power is on the outside and inside of the barrel connection, the third connection is the pin, and that's the sense pin. There's a thread somewhere within the first few pages where someone was building their own power supply. it's late, I don't remember which thread it is, I'd have to search, but, like I said, it's late, so you can searchfeeling_better wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:47 pmSorry, I visit here now very rarely. Re: Resmed Airsense S10 backup power
I was wrong. On a second closer inspection of the coaxial battery connector, I found it has 3 terminal. So most likely it uses similar to the S9 scheme with a 3.3 volts on one of the pins...
The outer diameter is 0.3". The inner diameter is 0.2" with a central pin (unknown diameter).
Connector model number?

I don't know offhand, but that same connector is commonly used on notebook computers, I've got several around here, but the power supplies are, of course, different voltages.feeling_better wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 11:25 pmI was wrong. not sure, but i think this is the thread to which palerider refers-

if nothing else, the user identifies as a "battery nerd" so maybe he can help out.
good luck!

Re: Resmed Airsense S10 backup power
palerider, thank you very much for volunteering that info about notebook computer connectors similarity.
If you can please find out one of your notebook connectors matching the resmed one, let me know the notebook model number. A verification method would be 1. to plug in the resmed plug (WITH AC POWER END UNPLUGGED) into your notebook,
AND
2. plug in the computer pwr supply plug (WITH AC POWER END UNPLUGGED) into the resmed.
Doing both will ensure the central pin diameter difference. Generally it is fairly easy find the electronic standard part number of notebook components.
Of course there are very many similar looking power supply connectors. I cannot recall I ever seeing a notebook connector with 3 pins, all of mine (quite a few) use only 2 pins. BTW, I had replaced (resoldered) the notebook plugs on many because of worn out / broken cords at the notebook end.
Any help is highly appreciated!

Lenovo and dell are two models that use the same triple conductor power cord, perhaps hp alsofeeling_better wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 11:25 ampalerider, thank you very much for volunteering that info about notebook computer connectors similarity.

palerider, thank you.
I found the other thread where somebody is doing a DIY backup. He seems to use both the male and female connectors. I asked in that thread. Thanks again.
