Many thanks for the link , some how I was getting mixed up between OSCAR and Sleephead . But after looking at your link things are much better now :)

Last night I tried sleeping on my side , but the OSCAR results don't look to good , But I'm not going to give up .
oh! so very close, my man. but you'll get there in the end. try this-

Suggested Support Order for your charts
Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limit (Only for Resmed machines, not on Respironics)

you have given us too much information. try ONLY the events listed above. keep practicing and look on your screen before uploading. please don't become discouraged. you should've seen how many times palerider had to yell at me before i got it right!

for all intents and purposes, oscar and sleepyhead are the same program. oscar grew out of sleepyhead. so it's the same, but as we go forward, the current developers will improve it so it's even better.

continued good luck. you got this.
Many thanks , I'm going to adjust my OSCAR reports to your suggestion .

Thanks to every one for your continuing support.

Well last night I decided to tighten my mask up a bit more , its still now fairly comfortable and not a problem .

As I have not yet managed to fall asleep while using the machine , I tried another setting change and adjusted to following options..

Set Minimum Pressure to – 4
Set Max Pressure to – 9
EPR Level – 3

So last night machine setting were..

Main Menu

Ramp Time – Auto
Climate Ctrl – Auto
Tube Temp – Auto
Pressure Relief – On
Smart Start – On
Mask – Pillow
Run mask fit used on start up.

Clinical Menu
Mode – Auto Set
Max Pressure – 9.0
Min Pressure – 4.0
Response – Soft
Ramp Time – Auto
Start Pressure – 6.0
EPR – On
EPR Type – Full Time
EPR Level – 3
AB Filter – No
Essentials – Plus
Press.Units- cmH20
Humidifier – Auto

Looking at the OSCAR report , I think that adjusting my mask may have helped in some way . But I still cannot get to fall sleep and after a short time I end up taking the mask off and switching the machine off , then I can fall asleep without a problem.

I have been wearing the mask during the day time and feel comfortable wearing it , so I’m a bit confused as to why I can’t fall asleep at all.

Last night I remained laying on my back to see if that would help me get off to sleep , but sadly I stayed awake.

I’m now back to wondering if adjusting the machines settings again would in some way help me to actually go to sleep ?

Mark

PS - I hope Ive now got my OSCAR report showing correctly

the report looks to be formatted correctly, but we'll see what the more knowledgeable have to say.

alas, we've got to the point where what i see on your chart is a mystery to me. so i'll let others comment and we'll learn together. :D
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Please turn off the calendar... otherwise, it's pretty close.

I'd raise your minimum pressure to 5, (probably higher) but that'd be a good start.

If you are still adjusting your mask fit, it is best done while lying down. The face tends to change shape a bit while prone.

Until you can actually get some real sleep using the mask and machine the reports are pretty much useless.
All we are seeing is awake breathing stuff.

Now figuring out why you can't sleep with it or what to do about it....different story. Sometimes the brain is just to busy thinking about all this stuff and it won't let use go to sleep.

If you can safely add an OTC sleep aid to help you get to sleep....might be worth doing. We really can't evaluate much until you can actually say you got some solid blocks of sleep.
Got anything in the medicine cabinet that might calm the brain down a bit?

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what? Sometimes we take medications that have side effects that can make it more difficult for the brain to calm down with the added stimuli of the cpap stuff.

I never really thought of that , I'm normally sitting upright when I adjust my mask .

Thanks for the comments and advice

Figuring out why I can’t seem to get to sleep is now my priority , currently I’m not taking any medication , but when laying on my bed with the mask on my mind does seem to be constantly thinking and stressing out as to why I can’t get to sleep ( catch 22 ) . I do exercise during the day ( home motorized treadmill ) and normally when its my bed time , I do feel tired .

I would love to try some thing that would help me to fall asleep while wearing my mask and here there are no problems buying most sleep aid drugs ( Atarax ) along with some herbal options ( Melatonin ) .
