Nasal Pillow Question...
Nasal Pillow Question...
I have been using Airfit P10 nasal pillows since I got my cpap the end of June. With this forums help...I have managed to control the leaks most of the time. I tried the Dreamwear gel nasal pillows...and didn't like it...too noisey & didn't like the hose on the top of my head. I can now get a different nasal pillow mask...thinking of trying the Brevida nasal pillow. Does anyone use it and happy with it. I still have some leak problems with the P10....I can live with them as it is very quiet and I am a light sleeper. I know that everyone is different, just want to try and find the best combination for me! Any comments would be appreciated!!!

Re: Nasal Pillow Question...
The Brevida was the first mask I tried.
I used it for about two months and after seeing all the positive comments on here about the P10, I tried it.
I am still using the P10. I just like it better.
The Brevida was very quiet and I tolerated it well.
You are able to adjust the harness on the Brevida.
Good luck,
JPB

Thanks JPB!! I will give it a try! Hopefully I will like it...and at least have a 'back-up' mask I like if I go back to the P10!!

Re: Nasal Pillow Question...
Used a P10 for my sleep study titration 5 years ago, liked it then and have used it ever since. As the head piece age's it tends to stretch out and have a looser fit and though it seems to leak more that isn't reflected in my machines numbers. I usually use the large pillows but I am able to use the mediums also.

Re: Nasal Pillow Question...
I'm pretty new to CPAP, just started this past August. I recently switched to the AirFit P10 nasal pillows and, up until just this week, have had good luck with it. (I had started with a Dreamwear FFM - couldn't seem to get consistently good seal, so changed to nasal pillows, thinking that a smaller area of facial contact would be easier to control/manage - but still didn't like the hose on top of the head - so now am using the P10 pillows.) Another issue I had was the sound of air exchange disturbing my wife - the P10 seems to reduce that greatly when a good seal is achieved. As I mentioned, that's been pretty good until the last two or three nights. I now seem to be having difficulty getting and maintaining a good seal and I don't know why. I've heard some people say they replace the pillows frequently so that they retain a tacky feel and stay in place - others say they use them for months at a time without issue. Also hearing people say that the headgear straps stretch and so can compromise the seal. I've only been using the P10 system for about two to three weeks, washing the nasal pillows with soap and water each day. Could this mask be breaking down this soon? I certainly hope not.....I wouldn't like the prospect of buying new ones every few weeks.
Anyone had a similar experience and found a good solution?

The p10 straps stretch. Wash them and they then shrink back down.
When I used the p10 I rotated three sets of straps ad would toss them in the laundry.
