So this is from last night. Ive been having issues for the past few weeks where I've had to slowly increase my min EPAP cause it felt like I was starting to choke upon falling asleep. Ive basically maxed out the machine. I havent had any changes in body-weight or medication or anything that would affect my pressures, ive even been eating less.

This is my first post so if this doesnt follow any guidlines here, let me know and I can edit it or resubmit it.



EDIT: I had some success with turning the pressure down, but I’ve started noticing some weird flapping coming around my epiglottis, so I’m back to square one.

anyway, ive been waking up a ton at night but theres no obstructive or central airway flags coming up, just pressure pulses. so I'm not sure what to do from here. any ideas?

I don't have enough information to come up with any ideas.
I have no idea why you keep waking up and it looks to me like you are using more and more pressure to try to deal with something that you don't even know if more pressure will fix.

It is possible that you are having simple hypnic jerks that are causing you to wake up.

It is possible that you are having a sleep onset central apnea that is causing you to jerk awake. More pressure won't fix centrals.

Do you take any medications of any kind? Some meds have disastrous side effects when it comes to sleep quality.

Have you had a sleep study done in a lab or at home to maybe help you figure out what you are dealing with? If so, when and what did it say?

None unless he has large leak flagging turned off by chance which I suppose could have happened.
What little we see of the leak graph does make me wonder a bit why no flag especially with the little peak that goes up around 110 or so.

There are no large leak flags on the events graph and the statistics say 0 % in large leak.....so the software isn't reporting any large leaks.

If you are referring to OP's initial post....he has gone in and edited out his comments about the leaks...I saw them when he first posted but they are now gone.

Also, I know it says that my leaks are high but Im not sure how accurate it is because its always said that ever since i started using the simplus face mask. When doing the mask fit check, it says that its leaking even when I have it strapped to my face as tight as i can possibly make it & there are literally no leaks other than the air coming through the anti-suffocation port.

The above is what OP first said about leaks and why I mentioned them.

I take magnesium before bed but that’s about it. I haven’t had a sleep study done in years & ive been figuring out my settings by myself with some success.

Is there any more information that would help? I have data from earlier days/weeks if that helps?

Yeah I edited my post because usually, my machine/OSCAR says I have leaks (even when my mask is strapped incredibly tight to my face, and leaks aren’t possible).

I would be interested in seeing what a lower minimum does.

Sleep maintenance insomnia....google it. There's a long list of stuff that can cause it and it's not all about sleep apnea either.
The machine only fixes one thing....obstructive sleep apnea related stuff.
It doesn't/can't do a thing about centrals and it doesn't/can't do anything about all the other stuff in life that can cause us to wake up.

I am not so sure your jerks are related to something obstructive and if they aren't...nothing you do with this machine can fix it.

No I don’t unfortunately. I’ll look into that & maybe try a lower pressure and see what happens. The only trend I noticed was that my 95% pressure was steadily climbing over the course of the past few weeks, so that’s another reason I changed my settings.
