But, do you yet understand what experienced members are telling you? They are telling you that you have no idea whether the settings on the APAP you used were appropriate for your condition.hairfallingout wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 10:34 pmTime will tell, I didn't have a good experience with a week of the auto, four hours sleeping with a auto I felt more tired then not using it. Re: Where do I even begin
Should I use a surge protector?? I kinda feel I should at home but I will be driving a 18 wheeler soon and I do have the cigarette light adapter that is designed for my machine but some trucks do have inverters in them. If the truck has a inverter you think I should still get a surge protector for it since with a inverter it will have the normal 115 two prong plug. The cigarette light adapter I have no choice with it just have to plug it in and pray nothing bad happens.

Re: Where do I even begin
It’s. Better to use the cigarette lighter in the 18 wheeler rather than an inverter as it is more efficient so will drain less power from your battery. No need fir a surge protector the power pack will protect your machine when using DC powerhairfallingout wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:38 amShould I use a surge protector?? This is a tanker job so I’ll Be idling the truck all night as I sleep to keep cool and run my cpap. These trucks don’t have a (APU) Auxilary power unit because the pumping system is in place where a apu would go. I have heard some of the newer trucks have inverters built into them as why I thought surge protector maybe good idea?

Re: Where do I even begin
My husband is an OTR driver.
I asked him how to run cpap in a big truck with no APU so you will be idling all night.
You can do either....cigarette lighter adapter or the inverter if one is built into the system.
I ask him about using a surge protector if the inverter is built into the system...he said some people say use one and some say don't.

you know, i was wondering....is there some sort of trucker forum where you could ask that? while not every trucker is a hose head, there are some what use it.hairfallingout wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:38 amShould I use a surge protector?? Re: Where do I even begin
Oh I'm sure there is a forum, i just thought I'd ask here, I have seen YouTube videos of where a lot use the cigarette lighter adapter but was wondering if with that if it gets some kinda surge. That cigarette lighter adapter does have a fuse built into it so hopefully it would pop it before the machine.

You can go to a trucker forum and ask the truckers and they will tell you what my husband said (who happens to be one of those truckers) that some truckers recommend surge protectors and some don't. He said he wouldn't see the need and would just use the cigarette lighter if it was him.

Re: Where do I even begin
Thats what I will do when the time comes, I'm suppose to start my training this week pulling tankers. Let the adventure begin at least i'll be getting better sleep now, each night seems to be getting better and better as the ahi numbers are coming down. Some nights the ahi is high but i figure it was just crappy sleeping for that night. Not really feeling better or worse since i started therapy. I wish i could feel the energy high as some call it.Pugsy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:39 pmYou can go to a trucker forum and ask the truckers and they will tell you what my husband said (who happens to be one of those truckers) that some truckers recommend surge protectors and some don't. Re: Where do I even begin
If you've got the 12v adapter for your cpap, the answer is simple. USE THAT.hairfallingout wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:38 amShould I use a surge protector?? Don't complicate the matter, keeping the inverter running all night just runs down your battery bank unnecessarily.

Re: Where do I even begin
I've seen the cleaning machines online for your mask and the humidifier tray, has anyone put the plastic tray in the dishwasher before or does it just get way to hot in there?? I always wipe mine dry every morning and do wash it with dawn soap from time to time, was just kinda curious.
