Well I went this morning to the DME to get the ResMed Elite. I was pretty civil till the fourth time she told me that this was the machine the doctor prescribed. I just flatly told her that he was not responsible for this. That I told him what I wanted. I wanted to be an active part of my therapy.
She told me that the information I was looking for I would not be able to get. I would need to go to the doctor. Can't believe I actually said... 'If you say so...' Just getting annoyed with her.
So can someone run down the information that I get from the results menu on the Elite? There are just initials on the machine (ANI... ect).
Funny Morning
Data
It'll report:
Pressure- That's the pressure it stayed AT OR BELOW for 95% of the night
Leak- The actual leak BEYOND what it expects as the bias or exhaust rate or the mask you've selcted in the user's menu. The lower the better, but anything <.40 is acceptable
AHI- The total number of events (apneas and hypopneas) that you are experiencing PER HOUR on average. Anything less than 5.0 is NORMAL
AI-The total number of APNEAS that you are experiencing per hour on average.
HI-The total number of HYPOPNEAS that you are experiencing per hour on average.
BTW, AHI=AI+HI
These are user selectable in nightly, weekly, monthly, six-monthly and yearly averages.
Keep in mind that the machine will reset itself every day at NOON to prepare for the next night's data (though the data is retained in memory). So, in order to view your nightly data. make sure to interrogate it BEFORE NOON!
Good lcuk with it! its a GREAT CPAP!!!
