AirSense 10 for Her help!

Post by Pauses » Sat Aug 10, 2019 9:37 am

I just got a Resmed AirSense for Her. I put water to the max line in humidifier. There is an odor of burning plastic for about 1 hour coming through the hose and mask. Then, it stops. I have a regular hose. The next morning, only a tiny amount, if any, of the water is gone. Is this normal? This happens at most levels 4 through 8. Any suggestions? Help!

Where do you live?
What is the ambient humidity in your bedroom?

Water consumption will be minimal if the ambient humidity in the bedroom is already fairly high. The machine has humidity sensors in it and it will use the ambient humidity as a baseline and only add enough to reach whatever setting level you have chosen.
It is very possible that the machine simply didn't need to use much water to keep the humidity at your chosen level.
I have the same machine and use a fairly high setting for humidity...on the nights where the humidity outside is high or it is raining...I might not use any water.

Don't know what to tell you about the odor. That's not normal if water is in the chamber.
Might just let it run for a few hours and off gas a bit and see if the odor returns.

I am in Louisiana. Maybe our humidity level to to high. I did not know there is a specific level for each humidifier number. I will go back and read my manual. Thanks
