Software for a Mac?

Post by Jeannh » Mon Jul 29, 2019 1:49 pm

Hi,
I have an iMac now, no PC. Should I be using Sleepyhead or Oscar? I also have a new bi-level machine, and my AHI, which had dropped below 1, are now closer to 2. I’m interested in why the change.
Thanks!

I use OSCAR on an iMac, no issues.

I would try OSCAR, if it's issue free, stick with it. If you encounter difficulty file a bug report and stick with Sleepy Head until a new version comes out.

Welcome! I'm a Mac user also.

Both Sleepyhead and OSCAR packages run well on my (older) laptop and my new iMac Pro; you should not have problems whichever package you choose.

Pick one of them, install it, and then share some sleep reports here. One of the village elders will promptly give you the benefit of their wisdom in re the AHI increase.

Best of luck!

So, I've found OSCAR for the Mac. However, MacOS won't let me use anything not downloaded from the App Store. Anyone find a way to get around that?
Also, is there a link for Sleepyhead?

Thanks, Jean
I'm running 10.12.6 Mojave.

Hi Jeannh,

Go to System Preferences, then Security & Privacy, and under General, change the 'Allow apps from' option to 'Anywhere'.

You can keep this change for just as long as it takes you to download a piece of software. :)

So after you've downloaded this one app, you can go back to Security & Privacy and change the 'Allow apps from' choice back to 'Mac App Store' again.
