I’ve been using a CPAP machine with a full face mask for over three months now but I continue to take the mask off in my sleep. I’ve tried wearing the mask to help my body get used to it, but this has not helped. I changed from a nose-only mask that had magnetic clips to a full face mask that has hooks that clip into place. This seems more secure but I still take the mask off in my sleep. Per my prescriber, I tried Melatonin and Benadryl separately for about a week each. The medication did help me sleep more deeply, but I was still taking the mask off and was less likely to wake up in the night and put it back on.
Has anyone run into similar issues? Any advice for keeping your mask on at night? Is it normal to take months and months to get used to the mask and machine?
Thanks!

Yeah I did that when starting my first week or so but I guess just eventually grew used to it and stopped. You may still be having apnea events while getting pressure so you instinctively rip it off your head. If you've learned about Seepy Head yet you should post your data to let the experts see if your pressure should be raised up.
Mine was too low when I started and was only caught a month later by my sleep doc which then raised my prescription from 15 to 20.
Yay

For no more diaphragm cramps and dozing off while driving!

I still have this problem, and I've been using mine for a year and a half. The suggestion I've seen others make is to take a piece of tape and place it on the edge of your mask onto your skin. The idea being that when you take the mask off in your sleep, the tape peeling off your skin will wake you up. I have very sensitive skin so I have yet to try it myself.
