one sd card works and one doesn't
I couldn't get my older 256 mb and 2 gb sd cards to work with my respironics bipap so my seller sent me a 1 gb which worked fine. He also replaced my bipap with another one of the same model. I just decided to start using the sd feature again and can''t find the 1 gb card he sent me. I tried my older cards and the 256 mb worked after I formatted it on my pc. But, despite formatting for fat and fat 32, the bipap won't accept the 2gb card. I want to get a larger capacity card for my bipap and need to know what to look for in a new card so it will work. Thanks.

Why do you want a large capacity card?

Re: one sd card works and one doesn't
No more than a year's data is ever retained, which uses less than 1Gb.
At the end of a year, the oldest days get deleted, one at a time.

Re: one sd card works and one doesn't
Only put the cards in one at a time. Bigger cards than one gb will probably more costly and harder to find than a larger card, due to them being obsolete. 32 GB can be had for under $8! Jim

Re: one sd card works and one doesn't
I read on the Internet that 1 1gb card holds 1 month of data so that's why I wanted one larger than 256mb. How much data can a 1gb card store? Thanks.

It MUST be true if you read it on the interent!kingwillard wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 10:34 pmI read on the Internet that 1 1gb card holds 1 month of data

Re: one sd card works and one doesn't
I made a mistake. What I read on the Internet said that a 1gb card holds 365 days of data and 1 month of detailed data. I checked some data that my System One RemStar BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex (750P) recorded and viewed in Sleepyhead for the Most Recent, Last Week, Last 30 Days, Last 6 Months, and Last Year:
CPAP Usage - Average Hours per Night, Compliance
Therapy Efficacy - AHI, Obstructive Index, Hypopnea Index, Clear Airway Index, Flow Limitation Index, RERA Index
Leak Statistics - Average Leak Rate, 90% Leak Rate, % of time above Leak Rate threshold
Pressure Statistics - Average EPAP, Min EPAP, Max EPAP, Average IPAP, 90% IPAP, Min IPAP, Max IPAP
Is it basic data or detailed data? Seems pretty detailed to me. Thanks.

TLDR: Buy an SDHC card with an 16Mbyte capacity, Class 10/UHS1 transfer speed up to 80MB per second- Brand : SanDiskkingwillard wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 5:04 pmI couldn't get my older 256 mb and 2 gb sd cards to work with my respironics bipap so my seller sent me a 1 gb which worked fine. Commonly available, guaranteed to work, and available online (Amazon) @ $5.93 per each.
Far exceeds requirements on your CPAP machine, can be successfully used in videocams up to professional grade.
Will store up to 16 years of CPAP data.
SecureDigital (SD) cards have three characteristics that are significant:
Capacity: "SD"= 0-2Mbytes; "SDHC"= 2-32Mbytes; "SDHC"= Above 32Mbytes
Operating System: SD= FAT; SDHC= Fat 32; SDHX= exFAT
Write Speed:
SD= slowest write speeds, perhaps too slow in some CPAP applications, and should be avoided.
SDHC= video transfer speeds with transfer speed generally by "Class". Class 6 is 6MB per second write speed and is satisfactory for 4k video recording which exceeds all CPAP requirements I am aware of.
SXHC= most modern specification and usable for professional level video applications. "UHS1" spec cards deliver 25MB per second write speeds and are dramatic overkill for any CPAP application. "UHS3" spec cards write at up to 312MB per second which is ludicrous unless you are a network video production facility.
